Just downloaded.  Can’t tell if I’m rusty or the game play isn’t as nice

“To our skate. community,

Since launching Early Access in September, tens of millions of you have stepped into San Vansterdam. Your passion, creativity, and feedback have reinforced our belief in what skate. can become. As skate. continues to evolve, we’re transforming as a studio. We’re reshaping Full Circle to better support skate.’s long-term future and focus the team on the things that matter most to you - and making those things great.

These shifts mean making changes to our team structure, and some roles will be impacted. The teammates affected are talented colleagues and friends who helped build the foundation of skate. Their creativity and dedication are deeply ingrained in what players experience today. This decision is not a reflection of their impact and we’re committed to supporting them through this transition.

Our work on  skate. continues. We look forward to working with you as we move faster, listen more closely, and deliver consistently for all of you. Our commitment to skate., and to the millions of players who believe in it, remains strong.

To our departing teammates: thank you. skate. exists because of your hard work and dedication to the craft.

To our community: thank you for your passion and trust.

–  Full Circle”

I feel bad for the layed off Dev's. I would like to think they wanted to make a better game and higher ups fucked up their vision.

No one posted about this because the game is basically dead before 1.0 release. About a week before these layoffs they announced the Tutorial Island was renamed, and available for a limited time for season pass holders. after a couple weeks normal players could rent it for 24 hours with one of the many virtual currencies. This didn't go over well, especially with their pre release promises of no maps behind paywalls.

Jesus. What a cluster fuck. I’ve generally enjoy the gameplay but this is such an astronomical fuck up. If they just stuck with Skate 4 and charged full price they’d have sold millions of copies. This Skortnite BS is infuriating. Who greenlit this Pop Off update?

That’s what I was thinking. They should’ve just made a real Skate 4 with career mode and the usual stuff. I would’ve bought it on release day.

they couldn’t have killed this game faster if they’d tried. I was trickling out during season 1 and haven’t logged on since the beginning of season 2. I honestly don’t even know at this point what they can do to salvage the game.

I kind of gave up midway through season 2.

The map is bland and lacks any personality between the neighborhoods
rotating the same challenges just to fulfill the daily requirements
lack of any brands that I would actually wear in real life other than maybe sci-fi fantasy
multiple currencies for an "early access" game lol
no matchmaking system to help doing party challenges

It's a mess with no direction other than trying to sell as many microtransactions as possible, which wouldn't be a problem if 98% of the shit in the store wasn't ass.

same feelings, tried out the season 3 update and you can't even get to the other map unless you buy the "premium" pass.
the map is so boring. a couple cool spots i'll go to for 10-15 minutes and then i'm bored with it. I'm really glad i didn't spend money on this game, early access or not it's pretty bad

I’m begrudgingly playing it regularly still, but god is it hard to like. The controls are superior, but it has no soul and I get furious with each update adding more micro transactions. I won’t spend a dime of real money until they give me a real game.

I would pay full price for a Skate 1-3 remake like the THPS series did. Coach Frank and Skate More Jason Dill was so much better than Vee and my generic Fortnite character.

I fell off this shit so hard.

I just bought Session on my Steam Deck after getting a little bored of the one area available in the Skate Style demo too.

EA could easily port them to PS4 and PS5 like Rockstar did with the GTA3 games...EA really does hate gamers

How does Xbox get around the licensing of the soundtrack and brands? I know most racing games have to be pulled after X amount of years because of licensing agreements
How do they go about selling a game when many of the in game brands have gone out of business?

Rarely play this game anymore but logged on and was surprised to see Quasi gear available

Items feel unobtainable without the premium pass
