I don’t want to deal with the PL again with Arsenal and Man U in ascendency.   Man City will definitely take a dip but I think they’ll be 3 or 4 for a season or two so they won’t have a massive post pep-hangover

Not gonna lie bit jealous about that Palace , nike , england collab. I wonder if they will play in them jerseys or if it's just a street wear thing. Didn't Juventus play in the palace kits years ago?

Don't know man,  like anyone who has ever played a match of football has to respect Messi is one of the all time greats. To see him in a Thrasher x Argentina kit is pretty fucking dope, to have the Gonz there also dude that's top notch shit...

Anyways they are boarding up shops here after last year's riots after the CL final. A family of four died here last time after being run over by some cunt driving down the tram tracks..let's hope everyone is safe this time around.

As for the result, I'm not from Paris or London actually have never been to either city. Both are widely supposed here so I don't know. Years ago my homie gave me an arsenal top to wear with him at a club in Dublin where you got €3 pints if you wore a kit for the match so I'll go with Arsenal tonight.

I'm gonna try to find the photo of me in the kit lol.

Edit: lol I forgot it was in November and I grew a mustache for some charity (was like 2011?),  I look fat lol

PSG players not giving a shit about their injured teammate is too funny.

I just find the commercial side of football incredibly off-putting. Couldn't care less for Messi off the pitch, especially for crap like this.

I had no skin in the game but I was tired after that man. The best footballing team in Europe won, but I can't help feel a little sorry for Arsenal. That was some excellent rugby/handball play.

merci ! Had a pretty quiet night, after all I'm a dad haha... Popped some champagne with mates though and my youngest kid was stoked! He was so sure we would beat Arsenal easily....I warned him: it's a final, anything can happen. And so it was tense. Hard watch.

now I'm still on a high... Winning once was great, but winning back to back makes you undeniable.
Really super happy after all those years when PSG was the laughing stock of Europe. And all those years of French players, especially from the Paris area, being bought up by big foreign clubs. I mean Thierry Henry was from my hometown, his cousin was in my high school, and now he has a friggin statue in front of the Arsenal stadium! how crazy is it btw that Les Ulis, which has a population of 25 000, gave 3 players to the French national team: Henry, Evra, Martial.

anyways PSG finally getting respect worldwide is just huge. kind of gives me the same feeling as in 98, when the French national team won the biggest trophy of all after decades of heartaches.
people might not remember but France had not even qualified for the WC, the last time it was held in the US, in 94... seems crazy now.

so I say bring on the WC! only 10 days or so away now....It will be hard to top the excitement of that champions league campaign but I'm sure some crazy stuff will go down, as always.

edit: almost forgot to mention, the ref telling Arsenal just before half-time "nope, you will not play the corner kick, you've wasted too much time" was prizeless!! Arsenal played quite negatively for a lot of the time. And the contrast in style with psg is crazy, when you think that both clubs have spanish coaches. Makes you wonder if the clubs'playing style is a reflection of their league and their country's playing culture.

I liked that it was the same outfield players that won it the first year.   Only difference was in goal

They’ve been like that all season, focusing on defending, set pieces and time waisting. Arsenal is usually a pretty likeable team, Wenger era football was breathtaking at times. This Arteta team sparks just sucks the joy out of the game, glad you guys won it.

Maybe a simplistic view but..

It's hard to feel that PSG's win doesn't give France a bit of an edge and likely a boost of confidence going into the World Cup.

Similarly, with Gabriel missing the crucial penalty, it's hard to feel that this won't be a bit of a knock in confidence for Brazil.

Dembele is the only French starting XI on PSG, mainly bc of how stacked they are.  They have more Brazilians and Portuguese NT starters

Doue is a starter as well. The French NT attack is basically the PSG attack, except you swap Kvarra for Mbappe.
Warren Zaire-Emery and Barcola have also played in most games as subs in this champions league campaign. Hernandez and Chevallier have featured a lot less.

In the starting XI, you have 3 portuguese and one Brazilian, captain Marquinhos. But he's been at PSG so long, he's practically a parisian now haha....Speaks real good french, almost no accent, and I just heard he's going to apply for French citizenship!

Congrats! I remember reading somewhere that in the top five leagues in Europe, about ten percent(?) of players were born in the greater Paris area. Come to think of it, maybe it was you saying that in this very thread.

To get into the WC a bit—can we all agree that Curacao away takes kit of the tournament?

Edit: of course of course, the kit:

Arsenal just playing to their strengths, they shut down the best attackers in football. Dembele and Kvaratskhelia weren't able to create anything. Doue scared the shit out of me every time he touched the ball though. Taking the reigning champs of Europe to pens after being knocked out by them last year in the semis is a win in my book. Hopefully they'll be back next year to take it! Now I can just ride the high of the Prem title for the rest of the summer, the parade looked amazing through my phone from the US.

Did anyone mention Arne Slot getting the sack? Kinda shocking as he won the league two years ago. Plus this year the death of Diogo Jota had to really fuck up the mentality of the club, like this year was gonna be a right off after that.

I alluded to it.  Look, Claudio Ranieri didn’t last a season after winning it with Leicester.   If there was anything worth holding onto with Arne they would have stuck with him but he lost the fans, the team, and the board.   Iraola is going to be an awesome step back in the right direction
