Any person whose income depends on their ability to perform athletically goes to the states for knee surgery or similar procedures.

Plus, if you are out of country for over 6 months a year your healthcare will lapse. Not good for a place where most major cities are pretty unreliable for skating 4 months a year. Only major city that is somewhat reliable for winter is Van.

That's only because of wait times. If you can afford it, it's a free market and you can go down south and get treated faster. But if you can wait a bit longer, you can get treated here even if you are broke.

the hazing was pretty lame, but people do stuff in the past that is regrettable, i have, and I am sure we all have.
Then you grow older and mature and are able to reflect and learn from your mistakes.

there's that and there's 'pretending to be blue collar'. i mean, maybe it's admirable and i try to experience as much as i can in life but it's different when you don't need the money.
like now heath can go 'what's this guy's problem? i delivered pizza pie, it wasn't hard' sorta like when you've been unloading a truck for a while, you're sluggish and a fresh manager will come up, bust ass for 2 minutes like 'see how easy it is?'
maybe i'm looking too deep into it.

I used to punk this kid out frequently in school, treated him like absolute shit.
NO hazing, but for no reason I had him shook to the point where I could flinch at him, and he'd turn and run.
I had him buck into a tree one day from flinching.
