Mario Odyssey and Zelda are fantastic choices to start with. Since you're into indie games, definitely check out "Hollow Knight" for some beautiful yet challenging gameplay. "Celeste" is another gem if you're into platformers with a great story.

There’s a FFVII + FFVIII Remaster double pack on switch that’s physical release too. That’s probably one of the first things I’d pick up when I get a switch, because why the hell not buy and play FFVII for like the hundredth time.

I’m pretty sure it’s playable across all platforms but I played Animal Well whenever it came out and it was so much fun and so irritating at times. But so much fun and perfectly cute.

Not the ideal system, but I bought the expansion pack for Doom Eternal. It wasn't as long as I had hoped, but I'm really glad I got a couple more levels.

I thought about some of the skateboard games, but they look like shit in the previews. Are there any decent skateboard games on Switch?

I’m pretty sure it’s playable across all platforms but I played Animal Well whenever it came out and it was so much fun and so irritating at times. But so much fun and perfectly cute.

Not a new game, but I read a rumor that Nintendo is planning on introducing GameCube to NSO sometime around the Switch 2 announcement. There's nothing concrete yet, but the rumors of Nintendo producing GC controllers in the same way they started producing N64 controllers prior to the announcement of N64 for NSO have given me some high hopes.

If they do this and I can play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess in 4K, I will partially forgive Nintendo for being massive dickheads for the past decade+.

I just got the ff1-6 pixel remaster and have been loving it. the quality of life/speed updates make the games so much more enjoyable.

I've never really played fully through any of the ff games but I'm hyped to finally have a good way to play up until at least ff7.

I was always a Nintendo kid but never had the patience to finish any of the Zelda game, so I’ve been going back to the Zelda catalog on NSO and have been loving it. Recently finished Minish Cap and Link to the past on NSO and just started Majora’s Mask.

Are any of the skateboard games worth playing? Sessions and Skater XL are on sale right now. Considering getting one of them, but also worried the switch can't handle either.

Edit: Bought SkaterXL for 30 dollars. I do not recommend it. Crashes a lot and it isn't anything special.

Edit II: Emailed people who work for the studio who developed the game and asked them WTF? Also, it took an hour with Nintendo but I got a refund. The crashes on challenge mode are insanely annoying.

Just bought it too for the weekend with family. My brothers and I played about 5 hours straight with my lil nephew mesmerized by it. Not a single complaint from my side if you have at least a couple hours to put towards it. Great games, super well made all around, super fun. We loved playing Mario Party 3 on the N64 app thing but this is definitely the best they've made in a while

I like it a lot and have been playing it on and off but am getting a little sick of the diving (I know) and wish you didn't have to do it as often. Will probably jump back in when the Yakuza DLC drops.

Got a Steam Deck OLED the other day and have been emulating Switch games on it, crazy how good they run. Currently a few hours into Metroid Dread and man it's kind of a frustrating experience... might drop it and try Prime Remastered instead.
