Mind you saying that I respect anyone that is really into something, who has a passion in their lives - that little spark. Unfortunatlely at *least* 80% of people don't have anything like that at all in their lives; it's almost like they're already dead..!
this is so true. once most people have kids they throw in the towel on themselves. it's kind of pathetic.
you mind me asking what industry your in?
i mostly work with computer geeks and honestly geeks are notorious for having hobbies they are passionate about so i only really encounter the vibe your talking about when i talk with people in the sales department.
Nah not at all,
To be honest I don't work in a specific industry; lately I've been called into a few companies in succession across a few industries to basically fine tune them; tweak the way they do things to ensure it is all done the right way and that the company makes as much money as possible - I'm doing a lot of systems stuff at the moment to basically try and automate all the bureaucracy etc so people don't have to waste their time shuffling paperwork and can just do their jobs, and to give the heads enough information to give it all a bit of direction.
(But you can probably see why I keep my "real" life secret from work!)
Not the most exciting stuff in the world (but at least I kinda get to call the shots about how stuff is done, which is kind of creative) - but hey it pays the bills and I realised a long time ago that riding a board would never do that! I started off my working life in Finance, so at least it's better than that!
So I guess I mainly meet office staff and suits, hence why I meet so many idiots! Seriously it is amazing how many idiots there are running companies!!
Mind you if ever a job came up in the skate industry I'd probably) be there like a shot - at least it would be something I cared about!
