Hey Roth, what's up with the "numeric 210"? The insole says all coasts.

Expand Quote
Hey Roth - is the 574 actually numeric, or just a skateable shoe that the numeric team designed?

Either way, I like the Topo one. It looks v nice.
[close]

Quick explanation is- All Coasts is not made specifically for skating but are designed out of our office here in Long Beach.  The All Coasts line (product prefix always has AM instead of NM IE...AM574 or NM306) are have a skate inspired look to them but aren't "performance" shoes like the Numeric ones are.  We use much more canvas, a little thinner suedes, more mesh etc. and are doing things like the Topo colab.  They're branded New Balance as opposed to Numeric.  Doesn't mean you can't skate them, some people like a much thinner shoe, they just won't hold up the same way.
Hope that makes sense!

I know what all coasts is, but this is named numeric on the site. That's my point.

It's just a verbiage mistake on the site.  We just need to have them update that and change it to All Coasts instead of Numeric is all.  FYI-the AM210 is the same shoe as the NM212 but without the toe cap and a little thinner material.  Not a huge change but skating in one would wear out quicker than our Numeric stuff.  Hope that helps and thanks for the heads up!

Got a pair of 913 in size 12 that are too small for me unfortunately. I think they’re sick. Let me know if interested. They feel smaller than a 12 tbh.

Such a letdown

Those photos REALLY leave a lot to be desired as they're faded out catalog pics.  Not to give away the farm on this shoe, but here's a decent pic of the label and top of the shoe for you guys.

Wonder what the overlap is between dad shoe fans and Tiago fans
Feel like you have to skate like Tiago in order to pull these of properly

Yeah, Tiago's are looking fun to skate for sure. I might be the only one that liked the pictures of the black sample pair. I might be down to try these, but assuming they'll be $100-$110 if not more.

With all this craziness in the world and the fact that I have a lot of skate shoes rn I'm totally down to wait till this new mid top cupsole comes out (can't wait for a sneak peak) or if the tiago comes out in a colorway without a mesh top.

as a big fan of new balance's 990's, i've always wondered why none of the skate shoes have a grey/castlerock color way.

grey suede, grey mesh, white midsole, black traction

it's a unique color scheme that's very strongly a part of new balance's identity. i would love to see some skate shoes with this color way like the upcoming tiago shoes.

me too. I’ve been wearing my v4’s a lot lately. Amazing recovery shoe, great support. Classics And I agree would like to see numerical adapt that into at least a colorway or two.

It's been discussed actually but it's not that easy.  Given that the cost would be $200 or so for Made In USA, the custom shoes aren't made like skate shoes.  They're fantastic chillers and super well made, but our flat, thin soles don't lend too well as I'm told to that manufacturing process.  But of course I would love to find a silhouette to be able to offer that.
