Same with Carla jeans death. It's inferred, but you don't see it. Your mind fills in the details with your own knowledge of how brutal and evil and devoted to his own code chiggurh is.

Re: No Country, anyone else bothered by the fact that Llewelyn’s death happens off camera? You spend all this time with the guy, following his escape from evil cartel dudes, dogs, and multiple confrontations with the seeming personification of evil, have all of this emotional investment with seeing him make it through, are privy to his plans and how he is handling everything, and then he gets smoked while Tommy Lee is pulling up to the hotel.

I get that that’s how it is in the book, and it speaks to the theme of evil and the randomness of events that is later reflected when Anton gets in the car crash, but man is it unsatisfying storytelling.
Maybe that's the point though. Storytelling, like life doesn't always have happy or even satisfying endings.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Until the End of the World

been on  little Wim Wenders kick. This is a 5-hour dystopian scifi extravaganza that I didn't know existed. There is apparently a much shorter version which must be pretty bad.

Yeah that movie is so good
I recently watched Killing Them Softly, this other movie that director did with Brad Pitt, but thought it was just whatever

I’d been meaning to watch this doc for awhile, and it wound up being even more wild than I thought it’d be

Yeah this link is better, I didn’t realize you could watch stuff on PlutoTV (whatever that is) without an account

They also have this doc about Dennis Rodman being drunk in North Korea that I’ve wanted to check out

I throughly enjoyed RocknRolla, definitely check it out.  I had no idea he already made a new movie after the Gentleman which i loved.  New one called Wrath of Man and he's back with Jason Statham so I can't wait to check it out

Rocknrolla is great.. Revolver is kinda hit and miss for me. Haven’t seen Ritchies newer films, but anything statham/Ritchie I’ll watch pretty much.

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch though are my favorites. The soundtracks alone are incredible.

Not Guy Ritchie, but i highly highly recommend Layer Cake with Daniel Craig if y’all haven’t seen it already…

Saw Nobody. After all the hype and positive press it was underwhelming. It wasn’t terrible, just a collection of overplayed tropes with an unoriginal plot.
Christopher Lloyd’s character was the best part, if he was the protagonist it would have been a great movie. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but you’re better off watching A History of Violence if you’re in the mood for something same vein.

No offense meant, but tonally A History of Violence is a WAY different movie.  Nobody was a fun sendup for me.  Definitely more of a comedy action vs AHoV's dark, errr, VIOLENT drama.  You know Bobby O ain't fucking on a staircase.

Agree with then being two way different movies. I liked nobody a lot it wasn't pretending to be anything it wasn't. Unlike so many movies it gets the ball rolling early, shows (not tells) you everything you need to know and gets on with it. And then it's fucking over before before it gets boring.
I think with movies you really just have to be in the right frame of mind when you watch them. And if everyone's hyped something up it will almost certainly suck when you finally see it.

I watch this movie a lot. Most people hate it but it’s one that helps me relax. Pitch black is another one I really really like that no one likes. I haven’t seen that one in a while.

I had the Chronicles of Riddick box set. I believe there was Another film about Riddick to come out much later but I can’t really remember it.

I watched Killing them softly the other day great film.

I watched Apocalypse now yesterday another great film.

Watched Werewolves Within last night with my man. It was surprisingly good for a movie game movie. Kinda cliche and cheesy but a fun watch.

I really didn't like this one but how was it as a game movie? (Is it based off a video game? Is it faithful or whatever) I didn't know anything about it before I watched it so I was probably expecting something different. Just by chance I watched Shaun of the dead before I watched it so seeing the best horror comedy of all time right before it probably didn't help.

Once were warriors.
Soz it's another kinda heavy one. Harsh 90s new Zealand. Crazy how much people would quote this one growing up considering absolutely no character in the movie is in any way cool.
