With some 8.5 Ventures on the way, I needed an 8.5 so I went to the local, shot the shit, stood on a bunch of different decks, got a shop deck, and came home.
Being able to actually see/stand on a deck before buying it vs. blind ordering on line has actually saved me money in the long run.
Must be dope to actually have a local shop that isn't Zumiez
You could still go in and stand on some boards, even if you didn't buy anything, couldn't you?
I guess we are lucky here in Queensland, Australia, with minimal lockdowns and pretty much everything back open as normal again, but I know a lot of people miss that feeling of standing on a board before they buy it, no matter what the store is.
I couldn't tell you how many times I have been into stores, if for nothing more than to just browse, see what they have, look at the shape and feel the concave of any number of different decks and all the rest.
It really helps to then know what product there is out there, what you might prefer and what works for you, which you can then check with all the online stores (and sales) so you get a bit more of what you know you will like, rather than a lucky dip, hoping for the best, but maybe not getting something that is really that good for what you like.
