Got soft G Form knee pads to go under pants after nailing the fuck out of my kneecap first thing at the park one morning. More motivation to get sideways in the full pipe. Good for work too and keeps me warmer for winter. It’s like wearing nothing at all

tfw you impulse buy some wheels at your local and then have to plan a new setup and whole new personality to run them.  ;D

Maybe they ride smaller than they look? Or maybe time to take the New Deal Siamese off ice...

Excellent cops. I've got a set of 57s, and I'm gagging to get the 60s but I haven't seen a set in Germany yet.

Those wheels look so good, I usually just stick with classic shape wheels but had a set of Powell 54mms 97a a while ago in similar shape and they were butter rolling on the street.

The shape/size of those Kaders looks so good.  I told myself I wasn’t wasting money buying all sorts of unnecessary wheels anymore but the more I see those… idk

I'm 100% certain that the CDC classifies AH Cardiel decks as essential goods during a pandemic.

Back in 2004 my buddies and I went to a Fallen demo at Four Seasons in Milwaukee and we got to see Jamie Thomas and Chris Cole killing it live. I remember getting Cole to sign my sweaty Wilson headband because that's all I even had with me lol. Forgot his name but this burly skinhead dude ate it on a rail and slammed his head so hard he was bleeding, went to the hospital, and came back in time for the end of the demo.

So naturally, my stoke level is beyond measure for these Fallen reboots. Got a Cole signature Trooper and the Patriots with straps.

With some 8.5 Ventures on the way, I needed an 8.5 so I went to the local, shot the shit, stood on a bunch of different decks, got a shop deck, and came home.
Being able to actually see/stand on a deck before buying it vs. blind ordering on line has actually saved me money in the long run.

Accidentally did this at a Vans store but, got on a board and scuffed it. I bought it but the guy pointed out that it had a blemish and gave me a discount.

Maybe you can try to finesse them like that.

You could still go in and stand on some boards, even if you didn't buy anything, couldn't you?

I guess we are lucky here in Queensland, Australia, with minimal lockdowns and pretty much everything back open as normal again, but I know a lot of people miss that feeling of standing on a board before they buy it, no matter what the store is.

I couldn't tell you how many times I have been into stores, if for nothing more than to just browse, see what they have, look at the shape and feel the concave of any number of different decks and all the rest.

It really helps to then know what product there is out there, what you might prefer and what works for you, which you can then check with all the online stores (and sales) so you get a bit more of what you know you will like, rather than a lucky dip, hoping for the best, but maybe not getting something that is really that good for what you like.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

chris.

Yeah being able to hold, measure, and stand on a deck in the shop is dope. You buy what you like and roll. On line, it may look good to you but you get it and its the wrong size, bad color ( I can’t do teal or sky blue paint) or you just hate it. Now you’re out 50-80 bucks.
I’ve probably bought 5-6 decks on line that I instantly hated when I took them out of the box. No more of that. I have two somewhat local shops and that’s where I’m going for decks from now on.

Bought a Polar P2 shape from a sale since I’ve been intrigued by that shape for a long time and I keep going back and forth between wanting a PS board that flexes comfortably or a crispy BBS that hurts my feet.

Now I’m waiting anxiously for it to arrive even though there is snow on the ground and all the indoors are closed for 2 weeks due to covid… Fff

Man the P2 is so much fun. I’ve had two and wouldn’t think twice to get another. I saw one with wheel wells the other day, that was cool. You’ll dig it!

Polar is so popular that it seems that every shop around here gets the entire drop 4 times a year, which means they are frequently on sale too. So it would be good to get into them. I was eyeing the P9 and
1991 jr shapes as well…

I had an 8” Polar some years back and it felt super long and pointy compared to the boards of today, but obviously the P2 is neither of those things.

just got a beat up complete at thrift store for 10 bucks. deck is a fried shop deck but there's a set of unground USA stamped 149s, big orange Acid wheels, and Andelo Riberio bearings.
Well-defined ambiguity, I'm already on somebody's list as a casualty
