fukkit pulled the trigger on the justin henry 149s and painted em baseplates purple

[close]

Can you explain how you painted it ? It looks sick !!!
[close]

thank you! just wanted to preface and say i didnt paint these properly. people suggest to use primer and a top coating but i ditched that.

what i did:
  • disassemble
    removed pivot cups
strip the finish with sandpaper (theres an easier method to this, but forgot what chemical to use)
used a brush to rid off the residue
painters tape on pivot cup area and kingpin (if youre painting the hangers put em on the axel)
    lightly coat the first layer
    wait like 3-6 hours
    another layer
let it sit for 24 hours (longer the better)

what i used:
  • 3M 80 grit sandpaper
Premier Interior/Exterior Multi-Surface Aerosol Spray Paint & Primer

Thanks for the infos ! I’d definitely do that next time instead of looking everywhere for a nice coloured pair of trucks

MIM PS… very mellow. 6.5” tail 7.25” nose. Width measurements are off. 8.3” wide and tapers to 8” at front truck & 7.88” at the back. ~32” in length. 139s would be the ideal truck  but closest thing I have are 144s and I’m not buying new trucks for one deck.

Maybe because at one point it was very hard to get, but whenever I see a whole roll of Jessup, I can't help but smile.

Lots around now and I will never run out, but it was pretty scarce at one point and I really don't like riding anything else.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I haven't skated them yet, but they appear to be some very soft, premium leather.  Glove leather? I dunno, but they're nice in the hand.

First time trying out ventures. 5.6 hollow axel hollow kingpin. Always had skated thunders but since getting back into skating I've wanted to try other brands out. Got some Indy titanium's but the pop feel just isn't there. Everything else is great. Thunders I just wish had the longer baseplate for slides. So ventures seem like the perfect truck for me. Now just need it to stop raining...

Has anyone here ever ordered from Junkyard? Trying to decipher if it's legit, looks it, but can't be 100% sure.

Yes. They had those crazy deal 2 years ago, where i got 4 alltimer decks for 80 euros i think, which was posted here :D had some good deals on shoes since then. Been also tempted to buy a few 440v1 for 40 euros for a while now ^^

Excellent! Like I said it looked legit, but had to make sure. They had some crazy deals that were just burning a hole in my pocket, fuck the exchange rate and shipping, the discounts make up for it heavy.

Edit: Damnit, they don't ship to the United States. Any Euro Pals willing to let me ship them something and turn around to ship it to moi? I'll obviously cover all costs .

Pretty impressed about delivery speed on the Ellington's. Ordered Monday late night and just got them today (Friday noon) all way from Quebec to Prague.

I have some that I occasionally skate.

Theyre pretty good but the midsole (and insole) is very thick and soft. Feels like adidas ultraboost almost.

Extremely comfortable, good shape and quite stable, very light too. Flick, grip n all that are fine. But due to that thick midsole, even though its quite flexible and light, you feel a lil detached from your board.

I still prefer how 1010s skate overall just because I feel more connected to my board, but the li nings take impact like no other shoe, even project BAs.

Got used to it fine, but stuff that required a lot of precision like flatbars and some more tech tricks was a little less consistent and i noticed it more when I was rotating with my other shoes.

Slimeline HSR deck rails. They come with way better/more trustworthy hardware in comparison to Lil Jawnz and Pig. I hear bad things about the non-HSR line (be careful). I'm doing buttery smooth boardslides on unwaxed curbs with little to no speed. They are very fun and I wish I tried them out sooner. 8)

I love the slimlines and the slimline hsr but they do wear faster than any other rail I’ve used
