They're pretty fucking flat, to be honest.

Never tried switching out the insole tho.

Yes they are flat. Like dunks. Insole is thin and barely glued in, yes can be removed.

They at least look a tiny bit more promising. In any shitty mall shoe store or outlet in america, those phats used to be and still probably are everywhere. The colorways always hurt my eyes. These look a little more classic. How they skate no idea.

Probably in the minority here, but I really do not like the AJ1 low silhouette. No competition when compared against dunk low.

Skated these once or twice but they’re kinda snug for me in the toebox. Need to go TTS especially with replacement insoles. I thought the shape and flick was great. Some ankle padding. Little higher cut w the longer tongue than a NB 440 for example. Got em second hand very cheap but the materials are certainly lacking. toebox just folds.

Black and yellow ones? I skated those and the tan/pink with gum sole. Both good shoes and lasted a while too.

I’ve got some of those I’ve never worn. Got on a vans kick. What didn’t you like?

The leather on that particular pair was super plastic-like and were just so stiff all around while feeling clunky. I like a slightly slimmer shoe with more of a pillow-y feeling when I step in them. These were mad hard underneath my feet which caught me off guard especially cause I loved the cushioning in the the last pair of dunks I bought, and the old ones had a slimmer silhouette too. But that was all the way back in 2012 or some shit, didn't think the new ones would feel this differently though.

I had that tan gum sole pair but I just couldn’t get past the pink soles. But they were good fitting shoes. I liked the fit better than the aj1 low Kostons

Tan/pink.
The pink was a bit much for me at first but definitely grew on me. Kinda hate the coloring it left on my grip.

I forgot which shop posted it, I think somewhere in Europe that they are available now. But with all the shipping issues, hopefully US shops get them in soon enough.

Yeah, whole bunch of shoes (golf, basketball, running, etc) were for the Olympics. Was canceled but they still dropped them all.

Probably same thing will happen next year.
