Just saw a post from an acquaintance that he and “99% of the art department” at dwindle were let go last week. Looking even worse over there now.

They chose to retain the services of the non-contracted intern who showed an aptitude for cutting/pasting the reaper onto a tie-dyed, potleaf background.
Oddly, in the next decade, when we look back at Dwindlepocalypse, we will be impressed by the cockroach-like ability of Darkstar to survive, as it continues to chug along, even then, beyond all fiscal reason or explanation.
Great news: the fedora & its symbiotic host will be spared after all!

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

Yeah seriously idk what happened I think I dropped into the thread at a weird point idk what point I was trying to make.

Seriously though have we normalized online skate shops? CCS was really frowned upon when I was starting out

At this point you can usually find an actual brick and mortar skate shop that also has an online store with similar prices to CCS/skate warehouse etc. There's no excuse anymore
You’re a Florida native, aren’t you?

Is there really a industry that does NOT work like this?

If you invent a product and target agrees to stock it in their stores, it doesn’t automatically mean they get the intellectual property rights or “own” your product

This isn’t inventing a product that sells at target. This being a head at targets good fellow brand. You can creat the whole identity and product for the brand but its targets product they paid you to create. The inability to distinguish these business models as adults is why skater run companies go away like dwindle .

gotta agree with you on this one. people who dont understand...just dont understand. if mcdonalds hires you to create a new special burger for their menu, they can fire you right after. its not your invention. its mcdonalds (the company).

This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021

Said intern learned all that graphic design skill off a weekend course at Skillshare.

With the skate industry going tits up its never been a better time to learn new skills and take you limited professional experience to the next level.

...is this what you think happens when you get laid off? That they just give you all the profits from the projects you worked on?

Saw that email too.

I had wondered if Boardworld had a direct Globe / Hardcore (Dwindle) link before...
I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.
