bored as hell so I cannibalized some other boards to string this one together

Heroin Curb Crusher 10.25
Ace 55s
Spitfire OG Classics 54mm
bones risers
santa cruz rail

gonna be slashing the 10 X10 slab of concrete in my courtyard for the next several months i guess

I laughed so bad with the "cannibalized".
I found the classic (?) 9" curb crusher, anybody tried it?

On my second curb crusher and loving it.

Anyone skate an Alien Workshop recently? Do they still have a pretty mellow nose, tail, and concave? I'm keeping my eyes open for 8.5" decks that are around 32.5" long. AWS is one of the few ones I can find.

I had one. Ya its was mellow. I loved the squared nose/tail. However, It cracked quicker than I expected.

My setup:
Deck: 8.25 Blind Deck
Trucks: Independent Stage 11 Lopez Crosses Hollow Standard Skateboard Trucks + Independent Riser Pads
Wheels: Pig Wheel 53mm (not sure if they've been worn down from cruising tho)
Bearings: Spitfire Cheapshots
Hardware: Mostly just independent bolts and stuff
Griptape: Polar Skate Co. Smile Griptape (I did the griptape myself and did a terrible job of it)

ignore the filters only good picture I have of my deck

Flip Deck 8.0, 14 wheelbase
Venture trucks hollow lights, 5.6
Spitfire, dont remember their name but love them, cant flatspot and if you buy the 99a or mayby 100a it was they slide like fuck. But you lock in to grinds perfectly i think thats whats they made for, comes in red inner circle and blue inner circle a little softer.
Think i got bones red and dont know the hardweare.

What do you guys think about a 14 WB with Venture high 5.6 trucks. I thing the wheelbase between the trucks are 17,5. I usally like smaller wheelbase. Is Venture trucks making the wheelbase to long? When i was as best i skated thunder and never even knew about wheelbase. I think it is that im coming back from winter break that makes it feel like long wheelbase. Get some ghost pop when im not concentrating on that weight on the tail. Next board is a Primitive 14 WB, 8.125. Mayby will feel a bit better with the wider Venture trucks.

14” with ventures is my fave. You’ll adjust. Any switch takes me a minute (long minutes, of ‘crisis’, crippling self doubt/loathing). It’s good for you.

I think it depends on which 8" Flip board you got, looks like they have different lengths off Tactics. The David Gonzales pro model has 31.5" with a 14.125" WB. In my experience short deck + Ventures will shorten and steepen the tail, making pop really hard. If you have the Berger pro model with 31.8" and 14" WB you'll do fine with Ventures, especially the ones with forged baseplates (V-Light, V-Hollow) since they will extend the WB by 3.4". Axle to axle WB is in the sweet spot between 17.45 - 17.6" range in my experience.
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm

While it’s all subjective I believe the common consensus here is that ventures on a 14” wheelbase is A-OK. Currently on a 8.1 primitive and ventures and it’s working great .
I should add I’ve done both the 5.2 and the 5.6 and I much prefer the 5.6

I’m riding Venture 5.6 on an 8.12 Pennswood deck with a 14’ wheelbase and it’s pretty ideal. It’s got more fingers of flat than I usually ride, so Ventures push the wb out just enough so it feels perfect for me. If it was less fingers of flat, I like Aces or Indy’s better, especially if the kicks are steep. I don’t notice the relationship between deck wb and trucks as much as I notice how fingers of flat, kick steepness and trucks relate.

First of all! Thanks for all the comments below as well. I dont know what flip board it is, its just a standard one yellow all around with a blue circle in the middle that says Fl!P. I putted my indys 8.0 on. I will skate with them untill i get more comfortable and get tricks back and the board start to end its life. Then i will put my Ventures 5.6 on my Primitive 8.125. I liked the Ventures, they felt good, just not right for the board. Felt like you had to stomp the pop like hell. Im doing it to experiment also. Will defnitley put my Ventures on when switching to Primitive board. Got no grind marks on my Ventures, and i cant even do grinds right now i think haha, and i dont like that. So my indies from last summer are grinded down a bit to it will feel much better putting new trucks on when you know you will be able to grind around again. I so damn wish i was born somewere there were no ice cold winters and snow and 3 months of summer. Thanks alot for all the answers were super helpful!

New deck, decided to write on it because I had nothing else better to do.

Quasi Bob 8-1/4" x ~31-5/8" (NOT 32.125" as described, but I like sub 32" decks anyways) with 14-1/4" WB
Indy 144 Standards
Spitfire F4 54mm 99a Tablets
Bones Big Balls
1" Indy hardware
MOB

For anyone wondering, it is the FA/Hockey shape. PS Stix also marks their press order now with dots, with this deck being #1 in the stack.

Thansk bro! This was exactly the answer i was looking for. The wheelbase between the trucks too. And mine are at 17,5. Unfortunatley i swiched them to indi 8 trucks. I know i will regret it when i go out. Will grip my Primitive and put the Ventures on and just skate a bit a little more mulse memory then switch to Ventures and Primitive board and get used to it again, unecessary but im such a nerd, know it just coming back again so it dosent matter to much wich setup. I felt when i did it right my ollies lvl out more naturally with Ventures. But i think its the board that make the tail feel so hefty.
