Hey Pals  :) I’m moving to Minneapolis at the end of July. My brother and I are going to drive there from July 27 to August 1. Ideally i’d like to take more time but it’s what my brother can get of work.

Looking for suggestions for skate parks, hikes, state/national parks along the way. We’re gonna go through Idaho, Montana, and South Dakota instead of North Dakota. I know we’re 100% stopping at the Badlands and a couple other cities along the way where my brother knows some people we can stay with.

We won’t be camping just because i won’t have the room for all that gear. My brother does not skate, so it’s not gonna be a skate road trip. However, my brother knows I’m gonna want to skate along the way and he’ll be fine with a few stops for me.

Open to any suggestions for stops along the way. If there’s any must-see things along the general route but slightly out of the way, we can certainly plan for that.

Mt. Rushmore is worth seeing once, or at least stopping to see the Black Hills.
There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.
Note: Clark Hassler died on the way back to his home planet.

Pull up to Hennepin Government Center when you get to Minneapolis.

i thought mt rushmore itself was pretty wack but I guess it's something to see. you can drive down the highway a little bit and park on side of the road and walk in for free. in the black hills tho, custer state park was sick with lots of wild animals to see and make sure you check out sylvan lake too, really beautiful.

on your way to the badlands, make sure you stop at wall drug which is total tourist crap but I loved it

I felt Rushmore was a little underwhelming

in Rapid City, Dinosaur Park is undergoing a renovation and a homie just bricked some of the fresh ledges, downhill curvy line sort of setup

prairie dogs in the Badlands is a must-see, Roberts prairie dog town is just a few minutes from Wall (wall drug is overhyped but kinda fun for 20mins)

Sioux Falls has a brand new park that's near completion, might be done by the time you're rolling through. the falls downtown punches far above its weight in terms of what you'd expect in that part of the country. homies at The Siouxer are super accomodating with spots and local stuff too

Pipestone National Monument is supposed to be pretty cool, same with Blue Mounds State Park in sw MN

there's a rest stop with a fun wallie/wallride on I-90 just west of Blue Earth, MN where there's a huge statue of the jolly green giant

Second everything Candied says.

If you want to just pump around quick and stretch your legs Alberto park in Montana would be a nice stop right off 90. And the mountains look nice for your non skating brother to enjoy for a few
