I really liked the HLC boards I rode from National Skateboard Co a few years ago. Yeah they were a little thicker than BBS but they were also more durable and retained lots of pop as they got older. They had a good mellow 8" I'd like to skate again.

Funny to find myself looking for information on a national skate co deck I just purchased and see that some one recommended that to me a year ago.. let’s see if the board is good.

Do we know who makes Toy Machine decks now?  Is it more than one company?  Looks like they have 3 or 4 8.25 shapes.

They definitely have "pro wood" for a higher price (maybe BBS as per some online shop top of board pics) and then "budget boards" for a lower price (most likely from China, with no sticker or anything on top) which I have seen here in AU, but there could easily be other sources too for the rest of the world.

SW top pics show mostly BBS stickers, if those listings are to be trusted.

Some other shops have PS Stix warning sticker and top markings, so there could still be old stock, or a mix of stock, so maybe best to check with the shop as to what is on top, in the way of stickers or info.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Is there a difference between HLC wood sourced from its Spain woodshop and the one in Texas?

As a follow-up this might be a long shot, but does anyone know is the new Sour twin 8.25 the same concave, dims, shape, kick lengths/angles as Roger/Plan B/Sk8Mafia/Jart/Cowtown twins?

Many thanks! I like the flat concave I'm on now and don't want to chance getting a steep one.

Just got some Habitat boards, the sticker says made in Mexico but there isn't the BBS dimple underneath nor a PS Stix marker. Anyone know where they're made?

The other option for which a few suppliers might be now going through Apex, formerly Clutch, who changed things up, got a few new accounts and are doing some good boards now, so I have heard.  I don't know if they still do anything on the tops of the boards though.

Mexico was pretty much BBS (with the dimple between front bolts), PS Stix (with the laser engraving serial information), Clutch (which had the letter and number stamped between bolts) and then with the change over OK Manufacturing which has the hardware from PS Stix (which also has laser engraving).

I think a few people have had Apex boards recently and recommend them, for the good shape options they have, as per the twins thread and elsewhere.

* Had meant to add more info, but easier to just copy the other posts straight into here.  Thanks @DNTRODDEN for the info too.

I think I might have this settled now, but we will see, might depend on what the Doc says about my mencusis tear.

Decks 8.38 x 31.75 +/-, 14 WB
T2/AF1
54mm X99 wheels
Mini Logo Med / Bones HC stack
Fireball Buit bearings

This is the basis of my set-ups, and I seem to skate well on them

I do want to thank @swongolianbbq for the bushing advice!

what deck has that?

The O shape is my current board and I know it is a 14.25

I have been wondering how exactly to go about the change.

Sure the PS Stix woodshop listing can just have "Closed 2025" after it, but all the other listings, should I have PS Stix until 2025 after each one or something else?

The time it takes is not a worry, as I can just copy and paste, but more just exactly how I should do it, which has had me a bit stumped, you could say.

* I think I have also been a bit preoccupied with other things too, so thanks for reminding me I need to sort it out.

.

I had the main listing already like this, but whether or not there should be something else, I just don't know:

PS Stix - Paul Schmitt (est 1987 - 2025)
Mexico

Changed to this:

There must be thousands of PS boards in circulation still so it is still good info to know those brands were produced under PS until recently

It seems like most brands went to BBS or HLC... did some actually go to "OK Skateboards"? (for those who didn't know, Julio De La Cruz purchased the equipment from Schmidt to continue board making in Mexico)

BBS is the woodshop.

Hardbody and Baker also has them, from what people have said.

Yeah it is a funny one.

People had said it was a DLX thing, but then with other brands using it, maybe it was more a BBS thing that DLX tried, or that was not just limited to being available to DLX.

Also funny the different names they are using for different brands too.

I wonder if Baker / Andrew Reynolds was only testing them, maybe more so than about to do them as a Baker product, when people had posted his story information about it.

Thanks yo. Skated one of the WKND decks and was actually impressed by it. Less razor tail, less chipping, lasted me twice as long as a normal deck.
