You're right...that shouldn't have slid by. I personally remember being bugged by that part of the interview but letting it slide because old dudes are old and sometimes say dumb shit. I bought some 1010 gear and pushed that shit out of my mind.

But isn't that sort of the point right now? A lot of younger people who have no frame of reference for these dudes hear stuff like that and wonder how the fuck this stuff gets co-signed by the community. People don't care as much about stylish FSOs as they do about not being forced out of a thing they love too just because they don't fit the mold that the old guard gatekeepers put out there.
