they should make 90s skate shoe loafers where instead of a penny you can insert an extra tongue or some fat laces on top.

I enjoy it when people get upset at other people's shoe choices. Hypocritically, I get extremely upset when someone wears Under Armor or Skechers shoes.

They never explicitly stated that they we're starting a shoe company but Herman posted videos of him skating in a pair of shoes with the caption "Starting a new shoe company with some friends. Tre flip wear testing. Coming soon..." Which would imply the shoe company would produce at least a couple skate models. Plus with all the skating related posts I feel that EE and Herm have too much respect for the industry to make a lifestyle brand riding the coattails of their former glory

Huge fans of these guys of course. But come on now wtf is this shit?

https://www.flaunt.com/content/erik-ellington-and-dennis-martins-new-luxury-shoe-line-hrs?rq=hrs

Sounds so pretentious. 'hand made Italian leather loafers". Nothing skate about this. Sounds like they've lost the plot. However what that they've done has ever failed? They've got the golden touch.

I feel like Lucian Clarke has also lost the plot, skating around in that Louis vitton armless jacket nonsense. Get a grip. I guess he's a perfect fit for this non brand then!!!

Can't wait to see someone skating these loafers.

WHATEVER NEXT?!

They are doing what they have done in the past and disrupting new markets, when you turn 20 you will understand that skateboarding is not everything. Lucien has made a huge impression on the fashion world because of palace and been given the opportunity to diversify himself and make money as a model aswell, there are also several videos of him skating in them, most notably, switch varial heel while cruising with ellington in London.

Ellington has always been a heavy fashion influenced guy, natural progression in a diluted shoe market is to create something better.

my biggest qualm with this is the fact that ellington had some amazing shoes on supra and emerica and so did herman with 3-4 solid shoes and they announced they'd left their sponsors to start a new brand that ended up being loafers

Ellington is 40, Herman doesnt need a shoe sponsor, expand your brain. They didnt just leave their sponsors, their contracts expired, shoe game has become diluted

Fucking lame as fuck. Anyone who thinks loafers are appropriate footwaer should just focus their trust-funded life.

Maybe you should just get a job and enjoy the finer things in life instead of sucking at skating.

I remember Greco wanted a Gucci/Armani sponsorship, like 10 years ago. I'm ok with this.

If I was a hot pro and Adidas wanted to give me my own olympic weight lifting shoe, I'd take it in no time.

would have been so sick

look, these dudes know the money isn't in skateboarding shoes.  so they're starting this brand and making loafers to appeal to the other 98% of the world that DOESN'T skate.  And they know when they DO make a skate shoe, it'll be somewhat accepted because of the status of EE and Herm.  It was the same with Supra.  This is a FOOTWEAR company, NOT a skate shoe brand.

Just because you skate doesn't mean everything you need to do has to be skate related.

All other arguments aside, why the hell would anyone want to wear fucking loafers of any kind? The trump of footwear.

If you're wearing loafers with a gold buckle and your shirt is misbuttoned it lets everyone at work know you are never ever going to listen to their ideas

Absolutely not. However, you can't make a company consisting only of skateboarders and post clips of you skateboarding in the shoes and not expect people to be confused about what's going on. This is not a strict "fashion brand" and it's not crazy to expect something skate focused/inspired later on.

how did anyone land on the name loafer for a shoe style? when i think of a loafer, i think of a fat guy laying on a couch eating potato chips and watching golf, and i assure you, hes not wearing shoes.

I think of someone with two loaves of bread for shoes.

Are you going full person and forgetting people can have different opinions of what constitutes a good looking shoe?

if I was going to buy loafers, I would buy loafers from an existing loafer brand, one that specializes in loafers.

yeah I'm thinking a super basic vulc skate model has to be on the way in the next few months, or possibly they will launch another brand in the near future off the profits of HRS (like Bianca funding 917).
