I just hope im still skating ledges and shit at 34. People wanna talk all that shit, but wait till you hit 25+ and your knees barely work unless you push through the bullshit and warm up for 2 hours, then see if you wanna try to film that back 5050 on the hubba

You feel/felt old at 25? Damn. That's soft.

Yeah, I agree with Glurmpz. I felt great at 25. That’s really young to be feeling weak.

Oh definitely. I致e had a board since I was 6 so my knees and ankles take a bit to warm up. Not to mention 20-25 was a blur of skating hard and alcoholism which destroys your muscle tissues. I知 not a complete dust bucket but some days shit just won稚 fly unless I致e had 8 glasses of water and a tramadol

The first time I grinded a ledge was at age 24. I learned most of my tricks between 25-28.  My first real skate trip was in my 30s. I知 34 now and still progressing.

Just do mad yoga, spend time in saunas, get a lot of intense aerobic Exercise (muay Thai and bjj work for me but I知 sure HIIT and cross fit work fine too) and you will be fine.

If you look after yourself, as in eat right, take time to recover, and do complimentary exercise to stay strong you should be fine. I don' understand how people burn out around 30. Let alone before 30.

Found Joe Rogan's account. How much elk meat do you need to eat to keep progressing at 34?

That was unironically dope

The lipslide attempts later in the video were gnarly. The landing at that spot was ridiculous.

Being old is a scapegoat for a lot of ex-skaters who got fat and don't exercise anymore.

So much agree.
This thread is my go-to for proper toilet visits.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

the western lifestyle is pretty sedentary, we sit way too much and dont move enough. the WHO recommendation is no less than 150 minutes of workout with every block of exersize should be more that 15 mins, and thats the minimum. people dont move enough and the body needs it, the more you move the better. ive had patients that were 70+ that were still doing daily workout that will annihilate some of my 30yo friends.
use it or lose it. if you keep skating, keeping alcohol and smoking to a minimum, sleep well andgive your body time to recover youll be skating deep into your 30s easily.
im 31 and skate intense sessions atleast twice a week and up to 5 times a week and im still learning tricks. i have a lot less stamina now but its not because of my age, its because of my shitty habits.
25 is young as fuck, with a few months of training and eating well youll feel like a 25 yo should in no time, its still early in life to hav chronic illness and pain

I never pay much attention to this thread but just went on his instagram to check him out these days and fucking hell, it's crazy how bad he has got. Hard to believe he was pro for Baker and had his own TV show.

This is pretty spot on.  My favorite boxer was winning major titles in his late 40's.  He switched up his style to something with less wear on the body and was basically a monk in regards to his body.
