yawgoons: wack
jake kuzyk: not wack

Jake has the best style by far. 99% of modern "street" snowboarding looks like rollerblading... just jumping/flailing from obstacle to obstacle. Jake does it right.

Had no idea people know what yawgoo is, it’s literally just a hill with a lift. Snowboarded a good bit in middle school because I lived in Vermont and there was nothing better to do when it snowed four feet. I got semi decent at it but after I moved I pretty much never touched a snowboard again. I fuck with snowboarding videos though.

To me it was all about Terje and Johan.   I guess Terje has had major issues with c meth.  Would hole himself up in Whistler half way up the mountain in a chalet and be gettin busy.

I snowboarded from about 1988 - 2000. Then I sold my stuff in 2000 to move to California for the winter and never snowboarded again. I'd do anything to avoid being in the presence of snow. I don't miss it in the least.

Watched Decade, Simple Pleasures, n grew up 10 minutes away from Mt High. Haven’t done it in almost 20 years but that’s pretty much my extent of snowboarding.

After dislocating my shoulder tryin some moves early on I said fuck it, if I was gonna mess myself up it was only gonna be through skating. After that I just had fun smoking doobies on the chairlift n goin out of bounds any other time I went.

Mildly curious what rad snowboarding is nowadays, post some stuff por favor.

I've never snowboarded and I'm not super interested, but I saw on YouTube that Jed Anderson has a new part for Adidas. It has some skate tricks, too!

I went snowboarding this past winter for the first time in like 10 years and honestly had a good time. Some kid in a MAGA hoodie called me a bitch, but as I kept watching him I realized he wasn't that good either even though he seems like somebody who snowboards regularly. I figure that's a safe assumption because he was an asshole, and in my experience snowboarders are kind of assholes.

Ouch. But I can handle it.

What are your thoughts on Scott Stevens though?

Dylan Gamache - noice

Yung Doli - did not know this guy, could do without the monkey music and clothing act. Jib god, superb style, skater

There's many out there but Kevin Backstrom, Halldor Helgason and Sebbe de Buck are some faves

Scotty Stevens - Dude is the Richie Jackson of snowboarding. I can't think of something more expendable than putting one foot out of the binding and doing bonelesses or even airs with a snowboard. So wack. He could redeem himself by releasing a respectable part on one of these:

Started skiing in 77, skating around 85, started snowboarding a few years later.
Snowboarding was ‘it’ for me, I never found anything as fun until I tried noboarding (bindingless snowboarding) years later.

I quit skating at 13 because none of my friends did it and the rest of the skaters vibes me out. Wasn’t fun.
But picked it back up 3 or 4 years later because I needed something to do when I couldn’t snowboard.

Now part of my income comes from snowboarding, and it’s been getting a bit stale, but the bindingless riding in powder (and shaping my own powsurfers) is pretty much the best thing ever.

Old soft snow boots, a piece of 5-ply shaped and laquered wood, and a leash are all you need for the best times ever. Cheaper than skating, actually.

Snowboarding is super fun, been at it for getting close to 30 years at this point.  There is nothing else like being out in the mountain, and riding pow is one of the best feelings in the world.

I also have been pow surfing or noboarding more and more in the last couple years.  Mostly snowmobile access, so it is definitely not cheaper than skating, for me.

Check out @garywayneshapes.  I’ve been working with them for the last couple years making noboards. More like a snowboard construction, with ptex, fiberglass, wood cores and top sheets.  3D contoured bases.

Somebody breakdown snowboard culture to me

Who is the Gonz of the snow?

Which video is the Welcome To Hell? The Fully Flared?

What mountain is the Hollywood High? The Macba? The Leap of Faith?

Which teams are analogous to skateboarding? Does snowboarding have an Anti-Hero type team? A Numbers type team?
You know I thought these forums were a for skating not discussing fetishes
