Nothing beats MFM straight-airs off massive backcountry drops with the jacket open, flapping in the wind, and not grabbing the board.

I stopped grabbing my board years ago.  Whats the point?

I'm still rockin Holden outerwear from like 2017. Miss what they used to be and don't like what they've become. I ride in the NW now and will probably go for Gore-Tex next. Crystal mountain finally opened and got a reservation for Sunday. Snoqualmie also just opened today so if I don't go to Crystal I might go there for the hike park

First passless season in a decade. Trying to give my body a breather. Hoping to score at least a few half days at some independent resorts, and some small backcountry bootpack missions.

California's been off to a slow start, but watching the storms roll in and out on the radar and resort cams still brings the stoke.

A buddy passed this video along. It's one hell of a journey. Biking through Canada to Alaska with boards, camping gear, and a keyboard.

No grabs relegates you to only shifties. Pulling that board up and boning out a leg, hearing the bindings squeak, that feels so good. Cranking a method or poking out a tailgrab, I love that feeling.

For sure, my default is to always do a lil frontside nose poke.  I used to love doing grassers, but my hip started to hurt whenever I executed one.

One of the best no-grab tricks ever is Terje in The Garden in the last part.  360 Stoney Baloney at 22:00.  Best snowboard video ever...

Went up to Crystal on Sunday. Was surprisingly not too crowded and they just opened Northway after a 10" dump. There were some nice turns to be had with surprise rocks and branches sticking out. Felt great to get back out there especially on a powder day.
Also can anyone recommend an all mtn board. I have a Ride Zero for park, signal tailgunner for pow, and want something for carving, hard charging, side hits, etc... was eyeing the k2 commonwealth and nitro alternator

Went to the hill today did a bunch of 50s and boardslides hit a few jumps and then after like 2 hours I destroy my knee at the bottom of the hill just trying to slow down. Cut my first real sesh short but had a blast

I licked out this week and was taken off teaching lessons to guide 4 guys who wanted off-piste powder.

They were in good share and pretty solid riders/skiers, so we did a lot of tree skiing.

First day was meh, not many scraps of powder, but someone paid the pow bill and the faucets came on.

Weather app predicted about 20-30cm, but ended up getting 30-60 where we were, classic Hakuba pow day.

Going to go to shit tomorrow with temps above zero (Celcius), but expecting about 80-100 cm from Sat night to Mon morning

First time out in nearly a year, and also found myself on a new to me board(Ride warpig) on Saturday. 4-5" fresh powder, had an absolute blast. We ducked so many ropes as the resort was just over half open and still making snow. Found some untouched natural features and got some tricks. Body is so sore today, but it was worth it! I forget how fun snowboarding is.

Nah, it's a crew. The video is 15 minutes long, lots of bails, but was a fun watch. Snowboarding rules!

Haven't been following the Olympics super closely, but I've heard Craig Mcmorris give shoutouts to both Lucas Magoon and Eman Anderson which was pretty cool.

Also saw someone put up a Jeff Keenan sticker on the rings of the big air jump. RIP JK

I heard about Todd Richards hot mic moment after big air.  Pretty funny and sounds accurate.  I watched one highlight reel and it was a snooze fest.

Meat helicopters.

Big air has turned into Ski Freestyle jumping from the 80’s.
Just the number of rotations and flips.

There should be at least one mandatory air with cap at 900, nothing beyond that looks that good anyways.

Halldor fucking Helgason was on a podcast recently if anyone missed it. Perfect antidote to the Olympics, which definitely needs a lot more jerk flips.

His humor, endurance of brain trauma, and jerk flip innovation make the interview entertaining; but, the grounded support of his filmer make it a cultural antidote.

First person to take his pants off, for sure; maybe the first to leave the chair.

Well done.

Had a massive attitude about getting 2nd …in the highlights I saw he wouldn’t look at the Japanese dudes or give them respect for winning…

Y’all never seen a vicious female pit bull? Bitches.

Anyway, beside discourse correction for you jocks saying “bitch”, stop watching the Olympics for correct cultural behavior: stop watching them at all, maybe.
