@Llewellyn Moss I had the Jacopo twin, didn't care for it all that much (YMMV).

Kicks were 'baker 8.25 tail" short, very tapered/pointy - it felt/looked long and thin...add in that 14.5 inch WB (I can see why he skates ACE on it), just not my vibe. It's a very unique combination compared to all twins I've tried.

The tyson and chrome zone boards are the exact same shape.

There seems to be the typical BBS/Baker vs shop measurement issues...baker says 32" but it's closer to 31.8+ and shops list it as 31.75...one side rounds up, one  down.

Thanks for sharing! Might have to cross it off my list and stick with the G069 (second best twin I've ridden) or keep waiting to see if Welcome ever relaunches some. That was the best I'd been on. Or try another shop twin. Just hard to find a true 8.38 twin with mellow concave.

Looks like Powell is doing an 8.3 twin for Zach D. 14 wheelbase and I think it said 6.71 for nose/tail. I don’t know what to think about the description of the graphic though.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4yuN1x_XfsY&pp=ygUOUG93ZWxsIHBlcmFsdGE%3D

If they’d do 8.5 with 14.25 wb I’d be into it.

Never ridden Powell so no idea what to expect but that's got potential.

Was super hyped for this as it was known to be a twin but the 14" WB is a deal breaker for me. But, it's his board, not mine :P

Some day we'll get a non-bbs wood (DSM/VX/Flight) 8.3x twin with a 14.25" WB.

I guess its a subjective question but does the .25 change in wheelbase really affect the way a board feels that much?

If there wasn't any difference, boards wouldn't come with different wheebases to choose from would they?

99a vs 101a

149 vs 144/148 on an 8.25

etc.

Yea thats fair. Ive skated many different boards from 14.5 to 14 wb and dont notice that much of a difference tbh, but i also dont skate every day anymore. I notice truck height/weight making pop on boards feel different more than anything.

I wish it didn’t.

When I got back skating I had went through or tried out quite a few boards of various widths, 8.25 up to a 9.25. I eventually figured out every deck I liked the feel of was a 14.25 wheelbase. It has ruined my life and made it easier at the same time.

I did skate a 14.5 yesterday with some mini logo trucks and it felt surprisingly good, usually on slappy trucks so maybe the lowness of the mini logo made it feel better?

Anyone ride a 3rd Lair twin shop deck? Still hunting for a true 8.38 mellow twin and they've got a few in stock.

No but I did email the shop. I'll post the specs if I get a response. Do you prefer like, flat flat, as in paper flat like an Ishod?

The Quasi I had was good, but still second to the G069 and Welcome. Yet all were basically 8.25. If Welcome came back with an 8.3/14.25 I'd buy every one in the country.

At some point flat just becomes flat, ya know? Paper flat  if I can find it. Everything out of BBS these days feels so deep. Didn't like the shape of the 8.25 ishod easy rider twin but liked how flat it was.

The quasi I have now is actually am 8.3 (suprisingly as they've all  been 8.25 prior). It's the new 'bubble' graphic.

I dont understand how someone’s first set of trucks can make for an awful experience. My first set of trucks was some ancient trackers w plastic baseplates. They worked til they didn’t. Wheelbase and truck height wasn’t a thing to pay mind to, even deck  measurements- wide or skinny was what  mattered during the first 10 or so years.

they were the first set of trucks i bought myself
i had owned a setup before that was kicked down
dont remember exactly what trucks those were
because it really didnt matter then
but they definitely werent stage 11 tall

that was well before i knew wheelbase and etc

or at least far from what i knew and the feel i like

I don’t need another deck but the 8.5 is incredibly tempting. I hope I see one and it’s super pointed or something so I don’t want it.

Rust bucket is pretty sweet too honestly. Gonna have to donate plasma or something to justify buying more decks.

I'm really interested in the 8.5" Hause/curious about the nose shape, so many 8.5" twins are 'tails' with short WB...Foy/DW (14.28", Ishod (tho it's 14.44") are the only two longer WB that come to mind...I find it odd that the most common industry WB is so rare in twin shapes (quasi 8.3x is 14.25).

Just gripped a the Lizard Skateboards twin eggcicle (more of a football shape)

Width 8.75” (middle as it tapers)
Length 31.87”
Wheelbase 14.12” (having truck madness, everything I have on hand pulls the WB in)
Nose 6.9”
Tail 6.9”
Width Over Axel 8.38”
Medium Concave
Symmetrical Shape
100% Made in U.S.A. With Hard Rock American Maple

That's what I'm thinking (but just picked up some of the IKP ACES but I know those will pull in way to much). Might have to snag some forged 5.6s (it's kind of steep so lower the better).

Low key hoping that's what the Hause 8.5 shape is like (would have preferred it be under 32" but w/e)

I'd rather have twin nose. I had a deathwish with a small nose and I just couldn't flick it right.
I was feeling the same since I skate better with the nose. I wanted to try out the Neen double nose deck but never had the chance to find one.

Almost the unicorn you're/we're hunting. If only it was an 8.38. Maybe it'll measure as a wider 8.25, doubt it but one can dream.

Anyone know specs on concave, kick lengths, shape for that `cuzi?

Edit: Just found the 8.5 which apparently has 13.75 wb and is mellow with steep kicks: https://thedarkslide.com/products/jacuzzi-burnt-ends-ex7-8-5-skateboard-deck?srsltid=AfmBOoooIMx-am3vXO77C-IFt8tIy-tWqAB9drKTDWo4tid9WGO7XjX1
