It was inevitable. All the OGs left or retired except for Leo and Spanky, the TM left, and most importantly,  Jon Miner left. Emerica will never be the same so they might as well add a couple of rippers and change their image a little. They still got a great team, a cool image, and good looking shoes.

They should make Made chapter 3 featuring Jon Dickson, Kevin Baekkel, Winkowski, and introduce Dakota with the first part. I really hope they pull through and make Emerica great again.

I’ve been vocal for years on here about supporting actual skate shoe brands like Emerica and Lakai, but if this happens there’s actually no point anymore, the big brands own skating and skateboardings point of difference is out the window. Don’t get me wrong, Reynolds is the absolute GOAT, and gets a pass for absolutely anything, but I guess I won’t be able to hide my disappointment in that a part of me always wants to believe that Reynolds is a die hard skater and was down to support actual skate brands till the end.

Yeah I really like that shoe but the thing is I'm not willing to pay the retail 80 for it so I'm waiting for the sale. I don't even pay that when I buy a Nike or Vans. I guess I'm the problem.

Peak Emerica was incredible. Obviously that was a long time ago, and the world has changed. I'm sure at this point Reynolds is looking for a stable, long term home. I can picture 65 year old Reynolds flipping burgers and skating flatground at a Vans or Adidas contest 25 years from now. Can you picture Emerica being around 25 years form now?
