tom, Those wheels remind me of the kind that Tony Hawk was running in the late Powell era. How do they flip? I feel like it could be pretty great or not work at all
them cats are out getting mashed up to jungle, he's out mashing up jungle cats. it's just not gonna work.

I didn’t find it to be too much of a noticeable difference from a more traditional wheel size. I could still pop and flip my board this morning. I could still lock into grinds on the park box and on coping. I could see them messing up how I do feeble grinds and crooked grinds because of how tall they are on the 33’s. The ACE AF1’s though? Ghost pop all morning long

Haven't posted in this thread since March and I've skated multiple Black Label decks since my last one back in Feb. Surprise, another Label! Haha

8.5" x 32.38"
14.5" WB (goldilocks length with Indys for me)
Chris Troy model

Mob Grip ▪︎ Indy 149 Hollow baseplate/Standard hangar ▪︎ Spitfire F4 Conical Full that were 54mm back in Oct of 2020. Probably 51mm now ▪︎Bones Reds ▪︎ Indy Phillips

If you’re in the US and still have the standard baseplates I’ll throw some cash your way for them

Sadly, they are not for sale! I'll be keeping all my Indy parts so I can rotate hangar/baseplates across my set ups. I have the standard baseplates on my cruiser right now, actually.

Do the fastbreaks fit a size big like other cons?

Wanted to change things up. Set up a Christmas complete and turned my old board into a whacky one

Lotties 8.25
ACE AF1 44’s
OJ EZ Edge 54’s
Bones Super Swiss 6

Same 8.1 eagle with 33’s, but this time with some bigass 65mm 95am Brand-X-Toxic swirl wheels. They make the board look like a cartoon board

those wheels are hilariously criminal

Two new setups

Quasi 8.375
Ace 44 with 3 washers on the inside and mix of Bones Hard and Medium
Jessup (not by choice)
F4 Classics 52
Bones Swiss
Indy bolts

Stoked to be back on PS Stix after the recent FA. It felt too stiff, and remained very stiff throughout it's life (I realize this would be a +1 for some) and the kicks which were troublesome to begin with became impossible after getting close to razortail.

The other board I setup for shits and giggles since I had the Ace 33s left over.
Enjoi Deedz football 8.375
Ace 33 with mix of Bones Hard and Medium
Mob
Ricta Rapido Wides 52mm
Bones Reds
Shorty's hardware
Santa Cruz rais
take what small comfort there may be left
seize what you love and damn all the rest

I can't bring myself to say that the urethane is better than F4, but I sure keep going back to them. Actually ordered a set of the 60mm Vs to try, now that I know about the vanity sizing nfg does.

agreed!  some day I will get some. the 97a f4 lured me away from getting loopholes. bought 3 new sets of f4 this summer. dont even like the 56mm 97a conical fulls.
every time i get that shape in a size bigger than 54mm I dislike the look of them so much and it takes forever to actually using them enough to wear them down to a pretty shape.

the 8.5 "flat as fuck" probably start feeling more like a standard 8.5 deck.....not sure if i ever got into this, but the "flat as fuck" concave is actually a concave made for larger vert decks so they don't feel like soup bowls. it gets super mellow on smaller decks.  Oddly enough, i've started hand picking boards out of the stacks of regular decks that are way mellower.  I have NEVER been able to ride a south central standard kick board in all my years of using them.  This run, ive found about 8 out of 1000 that are good to go. also hyped to see some PFC wheels on there.

big ups. you sent me a handpicked 8.3 toe tag as well and I keep forgetting to say thanks and let you know it arrived. I'm waiting on a new set of smaller trucks to slap it together. what I noticed most in this 8.5, other than it feeling much mellower than the 8.5 BBS I generally skate (maybe it's my imagination) is that due to seemingly less concave is that it feels/looks wider. with 159s it's almost magic carpet status, making me think of a bigger vert type deck. feels good.

maybe it’s not about the product being “better” per se, but more about how it feels. Case in point, some people prefer PS Stix to say SC wood. SC quality is clearly superior but if you enjoy PS better, then who am I to argue?
Every time I ride my setup with 56mm v-cuts, I have a massive grin on my face and at the end of the days that’s all maters!

Big step up in deck width for me!

9in Quasi "Pool Man" football shape
Jessup
Local crew's hardware
AF1 55's
Nasty ass reds that need replacing
Spit F4 Conical Full 56's

I have been riding 8's with my wide trucks poking out for too long. I used to like how it felt until I threw an old 8.5 on these trucks and felt that first kickflip... This thing has short short wheelbase so I'm excited for a nice long flatground session tomorrow.

They rule!!! Me and my friends have been running soft wheels strictly for bombing.

Went to this new suburb that being built here and it’s FULL of amazing, smooth ass downhills and parthys. I was doing the longest sess slides and felt in control 100% of the time. I normally wouldn’t slide a wheel so soft but I had no choice, had to wash of speed.  Plus I like the fact they are slim. I thought I ruin them but after a day of bombing hills and slides but  they are still perfect.

They were cheap as too.

First time getting a (quasi) christmas complete, I really want to get my trucks to the axle.

Roger 8.25  -So stoked to be able to ride a Roger finally, I told the dude at the shop that I wasn't into the big fat nose with deep concave shape which is seen on a lot of boards now and that I wanted a Roger, and he recommended the K mold  (Shout out Deli Skate Shop in San Antonio) which has a more mellow concave and a more rounded out nose. I would say it is an intermediate of the Baker I had before this and the AWS I had before that, I really like it.
Thunder 148 with the blue 95a after market Thunder bushings
Spitfire conical full 55mm
Shake Junt Night Train bearings
Shortys 1 inch phillips
Real Wooden Risers - Highly recommend these, made the Thunders a high truck and I fucking love them

Skating the DC Legacy Slims for now but they are starting to die out.
