Street corner 5.0 lows had to be the most popular truck for like a decade until stage 11 indys came out, but the question is, do they hold up? Dope setup btw
[close]

I can’t touch on how they compare to DLX Venture but it’s a nice switch up from Indy. Supersoft bushings improved the turning greatly, the lack of kingpin clearance hasn’t bothered me on any ledge tricks yet, rails may be a different story. I enjoy the grind feel, the stability makes nollie/switch much more comfortable. Only complaint so far is the constant wheelbite since I’m used to high trucks. Overall I enjoy them way more than I remember.
[close]

53mm with low trucks is basically requesting wheelbite. even more so with those bushings lol

I know I know, but that pop

The wheels are also worn down a mm or two. A fresh set would be biting like a shark.

Fucking love Wallenberg dunks! Hard as fuck to find too, I don’t think they were ever that popping back in the day. do you have a big collection from back then or do you shell out?

I have a stash and just stalking ebay. I got these for 100. Took mad long to break in though.

DOA Flat 7.5 deck. With jessup.
Venture 5.0 lows stock red bushings loose. Might loose them up more. Need that front foot push steering looser.
Loophole 53s shrank down to 51s by now.

Street setup:
Doubles LTD. BBS wood. W:8.12 L:32 WB:14.25
Indy stage VII 146 w/ krux downlow + bones bushings
Powell 52mm 90a + bones big balls

Park setup:
Darkroom. BBS wood. W:8.0 L:31.875 WB:14.25
Indy hollow 144 w/ krux downlow + bones bushings
Spitfire F4 classic 52mm 99a + bones swiss six

In a good groove with shapes + setup combos.
The Doubles was my park deck, and is now for neighborhood/streets.
When it's time for a freshie, the Darkroom deck will go to the street setup.
The truck/wheel combos will remain the same for 'park' or 'street' set ups, only cycling thru decks.
Probably sticking with Doubles or Darkroom in 8 or 8.12 for new decks.
Both companies listed dimensions are spot on to their actual measurements.

Girl Malto 8.25 x 31.8 x 14
Thunder 148 Team Hollow Lights
Bones Easy Streets V3 53mm
Assorted bolts and bearings

Hit a homie up with a new setup; he was riding a second hand setup which was tiny (7.75", 5.0 Destructos in purple). Didn't help that he's 6 feet tall, Welshing it and made the setup look even tinier. He was amazed that he didn't need to tic-tack to turn and he didn't need to struggle to stay on the board. Pushed around on it for a bit and the short WB paired with the slight WB extension of the Team Hollows felt incredible. I may give 8.25 another go, but only in a shorter WB and with 148s or 5.6s.

Haha they are shredded!

I moved house over the weekend and only had my girlfriend to help so I tightened the fuck out of my trucks and used my board to move the heavy things like Fridge and Washing machine. I’ve got a new board and indys coming In the mail as we speak

Had soft bushings aswell so the whole moving experience was a mess hahah

I'm a gear hoarder and was really struggling internally to let him have the Thunder 148 Team Hollows; I have a pair in 147 in the Color Theory series and they are really handsome. He's coming back from a history of bad ankle and back injuries (working as a chef), so I figured a lighter feeling setup would help him with get back on the board consistently. And I was screaming internally seeing him ride that janky ass setup; skatehoarders don't let homies ride trash setups.

Decided to use Indys on my FA as opposed to Venture
Embossed Gino not showing up through griptape.
FA Gino "World" 8.18 x 31.73
Indy 139 standards
SPitfire 52mm F4
Swiss
Shorty's 7/8 allen
Mob (I prefer Jessup though)

No one asked, but as a 7.75 guy, this board seems huge to me. Very square nose/tail and steep kicks also.

I have an 8.5" Hockey and it looks and feels bigger than some of the 9"+ shaped boards I ride. I stopped skating it because of how steep the nose was but I will say it was magic for crooked grinds. I might give it another go.
