That's impossible.....

;D I know, right! All kidding aside, I've heard pretty mixed feedback about Jart pressed boards and I'm not that big of a fan of deep concave in general. I ordered a couple National boards from the UK and wasn't sure what to expect. They were marked differently online so I was taking a chance but have really liked them both.

Anyone know if the new run of WKND boards run true to size? I'd really like to get away with an 8.38 but not if it sizes like my Mazzy deck
[close]

Still PS as far as I know so the sizes will likely be the same
[close]

Just don't buy those stupid 8.5's they make that taper and have the ridiculous steep nose and you're set. That shape sucks. It's less than 32 inches. I've been stuck with Quasi and Hockey boards in the same shape and was so disappointed.
[close]
You talking about the 8.5 x 31.5 PS shape? That shape is horrible. The nose and tail are too square for my liking, I've always hated squarish shaped boards, and the nose and tail are a little too wide too. I have a brand new WKND deck in that shape thats been sitting on standby and everytime I stand on it and look down it looks like I'm standing on top of a mini table. I can't stand it. Seriously considering selling it.
[close]

I'm on my second 8.5 Quasi right now and it is without a doubt the best shape for me. I love squared kicks and when i was looking at the shape i also noticed the taper, which I measured and goes down to 8.2 near the rear bolts. At first the shape really put me off but I set it up anyway and the taper makes it even better as it gives you the feeling you're skating an 8.2 but with the stability of an 8.5.
Sounds kinda like the Welcome Catblood shape which I own and really like. Square nose/tail and tapers down from 8.5 to 8.38 over the rear truck

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down

No it's Jart.
[close]
Yep. They also seem to have stepped the quality of their boards up. I've liked every National board I've skated. Jart used to be terrible
[close]

Same. I skated a National 8.125 'mellow' concave and 8.25 'steep' concave and liked them both.

i had a national around 2013 and it really felt like a toystore board. it felt stiff and old from the start. ive been hesitant to get another one, altough i really like their art direction. maybe ill have to pick one up!

Birdhouse 8.25
Destructo mids
bones SPF 54
indy blacks

Birdhouse changes wood to bareback and it shows. The shape is really similar (if not the same) as the toy machine I was riding a few months back. I had a raybourn deck earlier in the year and I was really like WTF.

well, it's bareback, so I guess it would be on Par with baker. I had one session on it, and loved it.

I was thinking the same thing about the 7.75 board and I don't think he got it in this day and age. He got it in 1995.

The wheels he picked up in 2005.

maybe he had a lot of extra money in 1995 and 2005 and stocked up on feather lights and big wheels

wasnt it common for a "eastcoast" setup in the 90s to be skinny with big wheels? like 7.5, 7.75 boards with 56mm wheels?

I finally got to set this Habitat Josh Matthews up and couldn't be any more hyped they are again using BBS for some of their production. This 8.25 in particular is one of my favorite shapes they've used.

Habitat Josh Matthews 8.25 (with a funky wood grain embossing on the bottom ply)

Awesome Habitat, Heritage.

I just set this one up I've been holding onto. It's from a few years ago. I think it might be BBS since it's pointier than any of the PS Stix Habitats I've skated. Maybe you would know more about this board? It's one of their hemp ply boards.

The thing I like about this board is that it reminds me of one of my very first boards that had a cheetah on it.
