I know that feeling of having a board feel very off. I try and embrace the new advantages: if the board is longer, maybe it's more
Fun for bombomg hills etc. No matter how much I remind myself that at least I'm not at work, or doing chores or whatever, at a certain point I will flip the fuck out until I can Kickflip, switchflip, and 360 flip. One of the many reasons I suck is that I'll just get stuck in that loop instead of moving on. So. There's that.
The wheelbase fucks with me. Nothing fucks with me more than the different leverage points that changing trucks causes. The timing fucks with me on a core level. I don't care, at this point, about not landing a trick. I do care about feeling like (and then looking like) I've never skated before. Thunders make the wheelbase longer. You are riding a board that has a longer wheelbase already, now it's more so. Good news is that you have an 'excuse' (for you) to not land your normal shit and just cruise. Maybe that's why I switch boards up all the time, it's almost like I'm relearning how to do a nollie flip or whatever. New setup: some tricks leave, others appear. Always.
