ACE 44s (38 specials but replaced them with modus nuts; krux pin, , riptide indy pivot cups, stock ace bottom, aftermarket 90a indy top; stock ace tops are REALLY tall and wouldn't fit with krux pin)

Aces in any config will! I'm just optimizing ;)

yes, BUT did you oil your pivot cups with the vaginal fluid of a sacrificed virgin?

Not sure if it was a virgin, but the do come with an 'internal elf-lubricating WFB compound' =)

Damn you, Black Friday sales!

Slave 8.375 Mumford - Steep and deep, SW WB measurements were off but oh well
ACE 44s (38 specials but replaced them with modus nuts; krux pin, , riptide indy pivot cups, stock ace bottom, aftermarket 90a indy top; stock ace tops are REALLY tall and wouldn't fit with krux pin)
Modus allen bolts
Regular MOB
Bronson G3s
54mm PF (SPFs) McGills (free from the powell rep I met so I gotta use'em ;) Thanks dude!

Setup is heavy as fuck.

[close]

What are the dimensions like on the deck? I had a $lave 8.5 and loved the nose and tail but it was a tad long on wheelbase for me, I think it was a 14.75.

Sweet setup though man!

nose: 7
tail: 6.5
wb: 14.5 (SW had it listed as 14.4 which is I bit, but they were wrong)

Shape is nice, nose isn't square or full/wide, it's just a plain old popsicle.

It's certainly steeper and deeper than most boards, the kind of concave and kick you could really see before you gripped it. The deck itself is noticeably super heavy compared to just about anything...

Calvin: yea I already had these 159s and actually DMd BA to ask what he rides on it. He said 159s and I'd honestly prefer no axle sticking out. With 149s on my other board just sizing up to 159s takes a little getting used to.

Can't imagine going to the shop '' hey I'll get a set of ACES, and I'll also buy some  modus nuts; krux pin, , riptide indy pivot cups, stock ace bottom, aftermarket 90a indy top; stock ace tops are REALLY tall and wouldn't fit with krux pin. Ordered online due to the black friday sales =D

Krux pin/riptide cups, I don't think anyone would carry them locally.

AH BA 9.25
Indy 159 titaniums w/ aftermarket orange cylinders
Spit F4 99 conicals
Race Reds
Indy hardware
Jessup

Can't wait for mine to come in. Still debating if i'm gonna turn it into a cruiser or a slappy set-up.
So either soft or some 99A wheels...also would i need risers for 56-57mm wheels?
Does anyone know if the Ace 55's are gonna be way too long for this deck?

If I can remember correctly, 55's are 8.875 in width, you'll be fine.

I use 1/8th risers on anything over 54mm. If they're soft wheels, I use 1/3rd or 1/4th just to be safe (soft wheels + wheel bite = face on the ground). I used to think that being higher off the ground was wack, but you just need to take a few sessions to get used to it. It's way better than riding tighter trucks (especially on a big deck like this).

The new skatewarehouse board builder pisses me off. Can't choose reg stage 11 indy's for some reason. Truck options are locked to deck size--meaning if you buy a 10" deck that clearly tapers down to a 9", you can only choose 215's. They give me a "warning" if I try to choose 54mm wheels with a 9" deck.

They may have the best sales, but from now on if I need a complete, I'll buy my shit from socal.

Yup sucks, best thing to do is put the wheels and trucks in first then add the deck.

So a friend got me an early Christmas surprise, I guess now's a good time to go over my whole setup again. I'm excited to try Polar wood.

Polar Pontus Alv 8.375 w/ Jessup because Jessup is the truth.
Indy 149s with bushings from Stage 10s for the slightly lower profile and no bottom bushing washer
Bones 52s w/ some unknown German bearings
Girl Rails
Current rotation of shoes are Huf Classic Hi, Huf Choice, Vans Old Skool, Vans Sk8 Hi, and occasionally Dekline Tim Tims

I feel like BA will be solely responsible for a lot of people trying >9" boards for the first time. That's sick.

Me, I've been sizing down lately (from 8.75-9 to 8.38-8.5), but I'm still drooling over those BA decks.

Better then the B16?
[/quote]

I like them both for different reasons.  The B16 has a short wheelbase and mellow, the 8.43 DLX has a long wheelbase with a bit more concave.  I can pop higher with a long wheelbase and it's more stable for all around skating, I have more control with a short wheelbase and can flip it easier

Both great shapes and perfect in their own right

Woah the bakers have a short wheelbase ? Like in the 14-14.2 range ?
yes
