i threw the conical ones in my thunder 147s for the cruiser and they're fucking fun! dont think i could set em up on my regular board but wanna try the 92a on my thunders next
[close]

I'm surprised at how well they perform right out of the box.  I could definitely go up at least one hardness to the orange and still be good with my turning, and with future set-ups with smaller wheels and no risers, that might be a necessity.  Definitely gonna pop 'em on the next cruiser I build though.

I was thinking of running the red conicals in my Thunder Team 149's, maybe I should go orange...too many options out there.

yeah man its funny how many options there are- i got the 88s on thunder147s on my cruiser with 54mm wheels and risers- they're perfect. on my regular setup i got 149s with the thunder 95 bushings - for the indys i may wanna try the 92a blues. and yes there amazing quality out the box. seems like the material they use is some of the best ive seen on bushings.

Depends on how much you weigh, what size wheels you wanna ride, and most importantly how much you wanna turn.  The reds give me suuuuuuper deep turns and I'm about 155 pounds.

I'm heavier than you and my wheels are around 54mm now, next set will start at 54mm. I like to turn and ride trucks pretty loose, the wheel rub I have is negligible and I've always had rub marks even in the wheel well days. Last night I was thrown off by wheel bite once. Haven't put my Thunder 1/8" risers on yet, kind of want to go without if possible. Are conical or barrel lower bushings preferred?

I'd go with the orange 90s, especially if you wanna run it riser-less.  Also, the conicals fit Thunders the best.

Red conicals are the tits in thunders (I use the bones washers under the indy bottoms to keep them close to stock height).

The blue conicals are awesome for me - at about 200lbs they're super responsive without being loose. Good solid middle range duro - but even at 53mm wheels and 1/16" risers I still get wheelbite, but it's not very frequent.

If I go softer than that I usually have to use cylinder bottom bushings to avoid having to use risers.

Aren't stock Thunders 90a anyway? I always thought the stock bushings were pretty decent.

I'm not entirely sure of the durometer of the stock bushings in Thunders since they come with two different types depending on whether you get the team trucks or the hollows.  Imo, the translucent yellow bushings are gonna feel like dog shit compared to aftermarket Indy's due to the quality of material alone.  Can't say either way about the Thunder white stock bushings since I've never gotten the hollows or whatever.

The newer white thunder bushings are pretty good. Better than ACE at least, a little soft maybe.

Yeah I think the white bushings are definitely on par with Indy's quality wise. For a while I thought that the piss yellow bushings were alright too, but when I tried some other bushings again I realized how big of a difference it is. The white bushings & Indy's are way more responsive, have better rebound and give you a deeper turn.

I've rode those clear yellows, but these days I'm way more picky about my stuff. Back in the day I don't remember anyone I knew ever talking about swapping out bushings.. hell some people don't even touch their nuts!

Wait a minute. How did you get South African grip living in... French Polynesia or wherever you live? Is it a super niche thing? Or maybe you just moved.
