Those rally green ace’s have never looked better than on that purple stain board, so awesome! SoCal blanks are Clutch dist and great quality.

Thanks. And that’s good to know! I’d been very curious as to the woodshop.

And yes I just got one of the grips they offer and it’s just fine.

I don’t believe their blanks are Prime. They do sell a ton of Prime blanks, but these are a different thing all together. Like another poster mentioned, they are a little hard to find on the site - they are not under the “SoCal” branded decks, gotta go to the “price point” section or something like that.  Once you find them there are pages and pages of options though. $35 or less.

This particular one is the “X9” I believe, there are a few different letters but it is unclear as to what each one means.  Overall pretty mellow, the kicks are slightly steeper than a Girl G033 but not as steep as an old AH I had laying around.
[close]

Did you get the grip tape from them as well?
They don't have much choice, the cheapest are their own brand or one made by Bullet (NHS, so is it like MOB?), and I wonder if it may be better to buy grip tapes elsewhere.

bullet grip is fucking trash, rollersnakes (online store in the uk) give you it with decks and its atrocious. had some in february and the backing paper started ripping when peeling it off and it was a fucking mess.

Treated myself to a new setup. Plus, I wanted to try the new wood.

Brujaria DB Cooper
Ace 55s
Acid 54mm
Swiss
Accel Slims

How is their wood? There's a few Brujaria decks that I really like the look of, especially the Goya ones.

Here's the latest product of my compulsive gear buying habit.

8.125" DOA Pat Washington 9 Lives "Flat as Fuck" concave
Thunder 147 Raw
54mm Spitfire F4 Conical Full
$8 Amazon bearings that are surprisingly good
Bones hardware
Grizzly blank grip (like the grip, hate the cutouts and graphics for the most part)

Shout-out to one of the smartest and friendliest guys on SLAP, SneakySecrets for turning me on to DOA. I haven't had a chance to skate this yet because it's been raining for the last 2 days but it's supposed to dry out this afternoon and I'm really looking forward to trying it.

It’s a 32” with 14” wheelbase. I think I just fucked up the angle on the photo. Still recommend it though.

Thanks! The top ply said “OG CONCAVE”. It’s pretty mellow, but it’s not entirely absent. You can actually turn pretty well with all the width. The kicks are about medium steep, maybe a little mellower than your average generator deck. It does give you that extra leverage for pop that the weight takes away.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I’m starting to experiment with 9+ wide decks now, but a lot of them are a bit long and have long wb. Cool to see a normal length/wb in that size

I think the wheelbase on that Crail shape is actually 13.875 which is not far off from 14 but 13.xxxx anything sounds so much shorter

This is what happens when SFB takes a break. The silence with SFB coincides with the emergence of bfrd. Cuts twice as deep.

Creature Gravette Football 8.8 x 31.4 14” wb
Venture V Light 5.8
F4 Conical Full 99a 52mm
Bones Big Balls

Definitely did not need this board and feeling kind of guilty. Whatever, it feels good. Took my Cromer football out for the first time since I bought it yesterday and loved the shape but it was just too small and pointy. This is closer to the Blind reissues I’ve skated before.

Edit: sorry I just noticed how big the photos are on desktop.

White bolts are definitely worse than silver ones -1

BA 9.25 14.38 WB stamped IV
Venture 6.1s
F4 conical 99s 52mm
Mixed bearings
Bronze hardware
Jessup grip
Jordan 1s
Ventures feel a lot like 55s one session in, they turn super quick and feel great so far. If the bushings harden a little once broken in I might not have to adjust them at all.

I love those Lance Mountain decks. I've got one of the Kanfoush 8.28 on the way.

Ventures get a bad rap for "not turning" but really I think that it's just that they turn differently than really any other truck. The main issue that I've seen with the stock bushings is that they sometimes split down the side just during normal use. Indy 92a are a good replacement or if you want something a bit harder I use tracker hard superball.
