Am drooling over the Kevin Taylor model in that series, is there and 8.25 version and if so what’s the wheelbase like? Are they all on pennswood or are they mixing woodshops again?

KT comes in 8.125 and 8.375 but not 8.25. The 8.375 wb is 14.5", but its a 32.25" deck so it fits pretty well. I don't have an 8.125 anymore but I have notes on it that I can look up if you want the measurements on that one. Graphic-wise that's my favorite of the series but shape wise I'm not a big fan. It's fairly tapered on both ends and has sort of a 90s football thing going on, but that's just me looking at it.. I haven't actually skated that one, so it could be amazing for all I know. Wood is all PS stix now, you can find some Pennswood logo decks floating around in shops still but someone on here emailed them and said they're done with PW for now. Personally I'm fine with that as the PS shapes are more to my liking (obviously) and they have more variety in length/wb/shape to choose from. Also despite my prior opinions of PS wood, I got back on it in the fall and it's become my go-to and I love it now.

Do you know if the Ty Beall deck and the kevin taylor one are of the same shape? I see that they're both marked "deep concave" on the site.

Awesome setup by the way.

Different shape and measurements. Beall is shorter and has a slightly tapered nose but full tail (sort of a reverse WKND shape) and KT is longer and is tapered on both ends. Concave and kick angle is similar though, both have a fairly steep nose and the tail is a little mellower.

All the decks are different and have their own little niche so theres kind of something for everyone. It's a really cool series.

Anyone ever skate the DLX 8.06 full/reg 14.38-14.4 wb decks on thunders?

Been watching a ton of brad cromer footage and curious what boards or how he sets his shit up
[close]
I think he might have a custom shape with a 14.1 or 14.2 wheelbase. I think they make one graphic a season on it.

Could be wrong though

In footage it seems like his board is longer due to more of his wider stance popped tricks and landings...

I think Thunders with cast plates (Team Standard, Team Hollow, Titanium) work great with 8.06 x 31.9 x 14.44, slightly less great with forged plates but far from un-rideable.

You hang with the curb crushers?
Nice quiver. Think 159's and wider wheels would work on that gonz? Thanks.
I'll see the crushers around and slap it up with them. I'm not in the club though.
I'd recommend 169s (or 66s like I have) on the gonz, no matter the wheel width.
Also depends what you mean by wider wheels. Are you talking conical fulls? Or Slimeballs or mini Juice? Those things are wide.
I happen to have another setup (shocking, I know) with 159s and 58 conical fulls.
Here are some photos to compare and see how the edges would line up:
Gonz on bottom. From the rear, you're looking pretty good.

Front view. It would work. But I prefer things more lined up.

Has anyone ever tried a 159 in the back, 169 in front? I wonder how much it would mess would the turning radius and feel. But it would line up with the edges perfect on some shaped boards.

Damn, that makes the whole set even cooler. IMO, having a slight variance in concave and shape when it comes to a set like that is really neat and has become one of my favorite things about skateboarding. It kind of reminds me of weed and wine. How you might snag bud or a bottle and it's different  from another even if it's still a cabernet from napa or whatever. Makes skating that much more interesting.

8.38 x 31.7ish x 14.2wb ScumCo Ty Beall (or Tybe All) from the Broadcast series
Venture 5.8 Shadows
53mm old zero wheels (hard as fuck)
Mini Logo bearings
Jessup

It's been freezing and/or raining for what seems like weeks straight and I don't think I've had back to back good weather days in months. So I've basically been setting boards up just to stave off boredom. I have another two already set up and ready to go after this one.

I already have this deck in 8.12 and love it, but its a little small for me sometimes so I decided to say fuck it and break this one out (now I have to buy another one to keep my set intact) and I'm so glad I did. This is one of the best feeling decks I've skated, so between it and the Team 8.25 ScumCo's first line on PS wood has two (3 if you count the 8.12) of my favorite decks ever.

So sick. This is probably going to be the first PS deck I purchase in about a decade.

What is the tail shape like on the 8.25? I'm curious if it's pointy like the 8.5 that I'm riding now. I love the shape but would like to try it in an 8.25.

Stood on one at my local. Its similar ish to the polar 8.5 tail but 8.25. Definitely not full, if anything maybe just a hair on the pointy side but wouldn't say its suuuper pointy. Definitely less pointy than the 8.1 polar shape which has super pointed kicks.

Quarantine Setup:

Scumco & Sons
Abair 8.25 (14.25 WB)
Thunder Team Hollows 149
Spitfire F4 conicals - 54mm, 99 duro
Bronson G3 bearings

This is my first time on a PS Stix deck.  Immediately it has more flex and give.  Not necessarily bad, just very different feeling, especially after coming off of a South Central deck - which is super stiff and snappy.  Also different (for me) is the huge and steep shovel nose paired with a relatively flat and square tail. Socially distanced curb session at local elementary school was good. I hope this wont get soggy too quick.

Fucking love these shoes. I feel like I'm walking on clouds and yet they offer great boardfeel for this type of shoe. I feel DC is killing with their shoes, I think this and the Legacy 98 Slims are the best shoes out. Durable and supportive yet really flexible and with good boardfeel.

Yeah this is accurate. I'd say it's a nice middle point between full and pointy. Pretty standard tail shape. I've only ever tried the 8.25 Polar though.

8 x 31.75 x 14 are some nice dimensions for Ventures. Does the twin nose mean that the kicks are steeper or the noses just longer, resulting in a shorter overall WB?

The wheelbase measures in at a hair over 13.75”. Wheelbase doesn’t affect me too much unless it’s super short or super long. It’s a true twin nose. Both ends are comparable to a traditional nose; they’re long and steep. This is a dream board for me. I’m glad they print them in the smaller size too
