I actually like PS wood.

It’s either the best board or the worst.
Sometimes my ps boards benefit from a little extra time in the stack. I set one up, hate it, take it off, set it up months later and it’s got more pop/better feel. Probably in my head. Noticed more than a few times

Could be placebo..
Or maybe PS does a shorter cure time compared to other shops?
I know shops check veneers for moisture content but I wonder if they test pressed wood.

Ordered this Toy Machine egg a while ago but never set it up.  Had some extra trucks and wheels laying around so decided to give it a go. It's more football than an egg, and the camera angle has distorted it a bit to make the tail look much bigger, but in reality the nose and tail are very similar.  The nose is a bit pointier than the Heroin egg which is the last one of these type setups I did.  Top graphic indicates that it was made and screened in USA, but not sure which woodshop.  It doesn't have the same look or feel as the old Watson toy machines.

I really like the deck, but going from Ace 55s down to Thunder 151s took some getting used to on ledge/curb tricks.  I like how light the hollow thunders are, but still much prefer the turn and feel of the Aces.  This will remain a setup for when I just feel like dicking around.

Good job on a that toy board. Interestingly I saw a on professor Schmidt’s IG that axel came and got Pro Tuned^tm. The shape is modified heroin egg.

re: football vs egg, I consider footballs to be more symmetrical like twin nose/tail, and an egg to have a fatter squarer tail and pointier nose.

WB is apparently 14.75!  Doesn’t feel that crazy though.  Not sure of the woodshop, it’s def not PS, no lazer engraving or serial number between the top bolts.  No markings to speak of at all on the top ply even, including no sticker.

I should add that I ordered it a year ago from SoCal skateshop and they listed it as 9.18.  The TM site says 9.0.  The 9 inch Jessup that I put on it fit exactly with zero overhang at the widest point, so the extra 0.18 is probably from the bevel edge.

The twintail shape is weird to look down at and I thought it would feel weird but it actually feels really good. I think some of the short wheelbase obsessed slappers would hate it, but the wheelbase on this feels shorter than the wheelbase of the quasi I moved the trucks/wheels from. Maybe because the tail/nose are so short, it's like a mental trick but the board feels very nimble. And I'm trying to skate it both ways, which is a cool feeling not caring which direction is the nose or tail.

And honestly, the gold flash underfoot kinda helps with timing of catching tricks. Like I see the flash and know that the rotation is half done, so I know that it's time to put my feet down soon. I liked the graphic on the wall and wanted a twintail for a while and didn't think that the gold would be weird. I was able to buy this from my local shop to support them during lockdown, so overall it's mostly good.

How do you like the shape?  I’ve got one I haven’t set up yet and unless I’m crazy, it’s got a slight egg-shape to it with the tail being a little wider than the nose.

Shorty's light hardware 7/8" - One screw I've sharpied gold, but it's rubbing off.
Funnily enough the factory black paint is rubbing off on one particular screw and showing the silver underneath.
So that will pretty much have the same intended effect.

Started skating again after many years. Bearings and wheels are very old but seem to be in decent shape.
Probably going to try Formula 4's soon though since the urethane on these is ancient.
