i've been eyeing off the new smaller/harder slime balls, what are they like?

I love them. I'd had a set of 99d spitfire f4 full conical forever, but wanted something a smidge softer for some curb spots.  Figured they would kind of suck at the park because they were a little softer, but they're great. Will definitley buy another set.

Antihero Brown Bomber Deck 8.86" x 31.75" WB: 14.25"
Indy 149 8.5" Trucks, raw w/ stock bushings, medium loose
Spit OG Classic Wheels 54mm 99d, white
Generic hardware, Mob grip
Bones Reds bearings
Rib Bones black rails
[close]

How is the brown bomber? Thinking of getting it to replace my blue meanie to try the shorter wheelbase.
Took it for a spin last night and loved it. The shape I was riding before was a 8.5" popsicle with a 14" wheelbase so the extra quarter inch takes some getting used to. Tail dragged on some manuals and I had to put more effort into getting my back wheels up into a leveled-out ollie. No big, after a couple sessions I will be adjusted to it. But it feels light, poppy and strong. Better quality wood than the Krooked pricepoint deck I was running. I dig the OG Classic wheels too, wider contact patch feels grippy and stable. I'm 5'10 and 200 lbs with 54mm wheels and no risers and didn't seem to get any wheelbite. All around this setup rules, I'm looking forward to relearning some of the flatground tricks I had in the 2000s. Gonna get my bs 360 back

Is there a way to get generator blanks in Europe?

AH Raney 8.12” x 31.38” 14” WB III on the press
Thunder 147 with black Indy bushings
Spitfire F4 classic 53mm 99du
Reds
Mob M80

Stoked to try out a new shape. Been on the 8.28” x 31.7” 14.12” WB kick for about a year. Stoked to support Raney as well. Can’t bring myself to try something other than BBS.
[close]

Curious about how tall you are/foot size; I struggled to get the 8.28x31.7 AH shape to work for me (5'10" / Size 10)
[close]

I’m 5’7”/ Size 9. There are definitely two separate molds for the 8.28” shape. The first one I bought was the Kanfoush shit-canned construction deck and it had way more mellow concave and kicks than a classic eagle 8.25. I had Indy 144 hollows on it at first and had ghost pop. I put risers on it and it made a huge difference (running 52mm tablets at the time). Then I put a set of Thunders on it and it was like a whole different ball game, way snappier. I have another 8.28 (pumping feathers graphic) and it feels way more like a classic eagle. I am running the Indy 144 hollows on that with no risers (same 52mm tablets) with way better results than the previous one. I never started messing with truck configurations until Ben Degros came along with all his knowledge. I am curious about this Raney deck and maybe trying out some Ventures on it. Definitely loving the Thunders though. Actually prefer the Indy bushings on the thunders and religiously run the bones hard bushings on Indy’s.
I have this sitting in my closet since I bought it when I was on thunders and I’m apprehensive on how it will work on venture

I've been buying way too much shit lately.  Too embarrassed to post another photo on social, but I just set up the following....

FA Sorry Bern 8..38
Venture 5.8's (3rd size of Ventures purchased over the last few months.  I hate new trucks, but these break in quick for me...)
F4 52 Classic's 101
Old Swiss 6
Whatever

I'm not sure if it's going from PS to Generator, but this shape feels amazing.  Shout's to the guy the posted the top view of his.  Feels a bit heftier than my PS boards, but is snappy as fuck and I know it will last longer.

Now to get some curb sessions in and punish the new trucks.

Tensor 5.5 ATG MAG
Wreck wheels 52mm 83b
Bones swiss bearings

Wreck Wheels not feeling too great, day one. On paper they're the same specs as the bones v3s, but they feel more like 100a. Can't call the trucks until I break in the bushings. I hate the concave of the deck, but I gotta skate it anyway. You flat deck riders are nuts.

Thanks man! Vú and Gary are great. Took it out for the first time last night and really liked it. The wood is solid deck and the shapes nice. It's shaped a little different then the krooked MAnderson shape I was on but I'm really enjoying it.

I have this sitting in my closet since I bought it when I was on thunders and I’m apprehensive on how it will work on venture

If you mean you have the 8.28 x 31.7 AH then I love it on ventures. Actually it's the deck that "unlocked" ventures for me. I think the 14.12 wb is probably one of my favorite sizes for ventures, it's compact enough that I can still whip scoopy stuff around but long enough that I feel solid and stable.

Latest wholly unnecessary board that I setup out of boredom.

8.38 Pet Skateboards "Bippy"
Indy 149 tits
56mm Loophole V shape
Hard Luck 1010 Swiss (good bearings but they only work with white wheels)
Griftape grip + some random blue shit
Riptide 90a APS bushings because I'm a kook

I got this deck because it was listed as 8.38" x 31.5" but it's actually close to 31.9". The wood shop is a mystery, it doesn't have any of the markings that I'd usually use to ID a deck. So because of those two things my expectations were pretty low, but my first impression is pleasantly surprised. Despite being longer and having a steeper tail than I typically prefer the shape is nice. The wood is pretty good so far too - it's quite stiff and snappy but lightweight. It doesn't have the explosive pop of some stiffer decks (BBS, pennswood etc) but it feels good and solid and gets up off the ground pretty well. Kind of feels like drifter to me, but with a little more pop than the first one I tried. Overall I'm bummed that it's not the short and fat deck that I was expecting but it's a pretty good board nonetheless.

Swiss
SC Slimeballs Vomits 56mm 97a (no risers)

Have been really digging strapping my board to my bike and riding everywhere to skate.  Curbs and the skatepark.  It's all within about a 4 mile radius from my home.  47yrs old and too fat, hoping to shed about 30lbs by November.  Feel like I'm 14 again, just way fatter...and bald.

They have an 8.18" x 31.75" shape that they use pretty often. I think its a longer wb though, like 14.38 or 14.5.

For what it's worth I'm pretty sure that Beres deck is actually supposed to be an 8.12, not an 8.18. I looked at it when it first came out because I like short decks (and I cannot lie) but decided against it because it was 8.12. If it was 8.25 I probably would have snagged one. Then again, BBS isn't always consistently super precise with their dimensions so it wouldn't surprise me if it did actually measure 8.18.

Been riding a Baker 7.875 for last bit. Time is here for new set up, but that size is super hard to find
Would it be better to go back to 7.75 or an 8? i'm on Thunders (147's i think).
Thoughts? Ideas? Hint's? Trick's? Tips?

Bakers tend to taper quite a bit. If you’re riding a 147 and want another Baker I would go 8. Their 8s tend to feel a bit small to me so it should work out.

Saw JK recently restocked some decks so figured I'd splurged for my birthday!

Hook Ups 8 x 31.75 x 14 wb
Indy 139s
Hook Ups 54mm 99a
Shake Junt triple ogs bearings, figgy grip and 7/8 hardware.
Emerica Romero Laced

Really like tapered shape of this deck and the mellow kicks and concave. I think I'm gonna be riding HKs for as long as I possibly can from now on.

In my experience the Dwindle R7 decks have been great. Not sure about other Chinese decks/wood shops.
