If I only used three bolts for each truck, I couldn’t not think about it the entire time I was skating.

And I’d probably have a full-on brain aneurysm if I only did two.

Dunno why you’d be ashamed. Better than us that are out here setting up different shit all of the time, and not skating as much. If you can ollie that, when/if the time comes for a new board, pop will be better. I think it looks sick.

Nothing to be ashamed of this is so sick. I love skating my shit for as long as I can. It really is such a sick feeling riding a setup thats nice and broken in and you are totally in sync with. Besides, Ive seen people do fucked up shit on setups that were truly shit, which makes me realize that a chip or bit of wear on the nose/tail isn't really an excuse for not landing shit.

Quasi 8.5
Venture 5.8 with green bushings and some extra spacers
Sml wheels 54
Swiss with the shields popped
Mob
Bronze Hardware
Gonna try out these Clear Weather shoes

Wish I would've shown more restraint with the sticker job but I'm real hyped on my little vintage Venture sticker
[close]

Dope.
You going no bottom washer?
Ventures looking sick

Thanks. Yeah I always end up taking the bottom washer off just to turn more but I'm not really sure how necessary it is. I have another set of ventures sitting around but I want to see how far these ones will go. Been a couple years.

3 bolts just feels like enough I guess. Plus Venture hangers get in the way of those top holes so it makes it easier to just run one up there.

I had the 8.3 twin last year and didn’t care for it. It felt short and stubby. But now I looks like a new challenger has appeared. Did you ride the other one?

Stoked for tomorrow.
I wasn't going to skate it but Im just only going to skate the nose and tail. Graphics will be fine. Still will look good on a wall

I switched my trucks around putting the back on the front. Hope it doesn't get me hurt.

I'm really happy with the shape of my wheels rn.

I need to re cut the axles soon. Not looking forward to wheel rotation

It was about the base plate. One kingpin was missing a few threads. That had to be moved to the back because the nylock wasn't biting the pin because I ride extra loose up front.

I have a believe that it's bad luck to switch the plates after I've marked them F and B on the bottom.

I got really broke off a few times today. I'm in pretty bad shape.

DOA 8.25/14.25
Ace 44
Conical Full 53/99

Lately I've been thinking of set-ups in terms of kicks/fingers of flat instead of WB. Really wouldn't have considered a 14.25 WB with Aces before but I know that I like Aces with steep kicks and so here I am. Feels great.

Is this the regular shape/mold? I’ve been waiting for more product to come out from the DOA camp. I understand that there are many other more important things happening these day’s tho.

I haven’t figured out fingers of flat. I usually pick boards with it, but because I’m so often changing trucks, and sizes it’s hard to know what’s affecting what. Right when Bianca Chandon started I got a board, ps stix, hated it, came back to it and it was amazing. Lots of flat, like a ridiculous amount, and set up up with indys. Blah blah, I have too many variables, not enough constants.

Thanks!

Ok - yup, standard shape which generally are pretty steep. What really made it click was running a super short board with a long/flat tail with some Ventures. It felt amazing and I thought well if I can comfortably skate this sub 14" wb board than trying to stay in what I thought was my ideal WB range is pointless, that's not going to be the biggest factor in how a set-up feels.

Hahaha. All of the ‘information’ about board fit is just a malevolent orb of squiggles, inside of my mind,  belching out small pieces of material for me to attempt to decode, before spinning again and kicking out something else.
‘The professor’, I believe, coined the ‘fingers of flat’. I can’t really string together all of what he says about board sizing, shapes and such. ‘Kindly humanoid  embodiment of a cartoon mad scientist’ doesn’t have the same easy ring to it, as the professor, only in skateboarding....
I look at this stuff, not thinking I’m going to hack my way into better skating (would be nice tho), but just as more of a diversion from other stuff, which is at best at waste of time, and more likely just another way to be complacent and complicit from behind a screen, on a couch.
