This is my second coldpress creature deck (had 8.38 soul servant) and as much as I expected it to be a gimmick, these feel super nice and stiff and have a great feel unlike the typical dwindle but unfortantuley they are not being made any more.
[close]

That sucks. Where did you hear that from? I love the shapes and feel of them, way better than BBS/GEN/PS.
[close]

Agreed. I spoke with the chat people on the NHS site and they grabbed a person who knew about the cold press decks that let me know there is nothing currently using those construction out, but they did just release lots of new boards that are wide with shorter wheelbases. He was also skating "the green bottom yellow tops coldpress" which I guess is what they referr to them as. Im sure someone may know more but the staff was responsive and confirmed these were still dwindle and reccomended the closest thing to the shape (new winkowski).

But this Talisman shape is perfect for me so I may grab another just in case.

Great decks and I think you have 3 options and can find them at tactics and on ebay

I've the first run Horror Show in 8.3 and 8.25, put them on ice for a bit, but it's such a great shape (assuming the 8.5 follows suit).

The 8.25" would sell out in a day at every online shop. I hope they bring them back. The wide-tip shape will apparently stay in the line-up (I had a convo a while back with the SC TM about them). But that doesn't mean forever or every drop either =( I get sales dictate what stay and what goes but these were/are really, really good.

Yeah I asked about the wide tip too as its the same dimensions but he stated the wide tip has typical SC medium concave and steeper tails and reg dwindle construction. SC finally is improving their graphics too.

From what I can see all the coldpress seem to be very similar shape/concave/kick and likely the same press. The Talisman is just like the soul servant, just a little roomier. Same shape (close but not exactly symmetrical) Hope they bring them back too.

The combo Welcome/Dogtown/Baker on a Creature bothers me more.

how you liking 7.75?

Loving it, especially with the ventures and small wheels. It has a small wheelbase too at 13.8 too which is dream for flip tricks.

I'm getting loads of flip tricks I went rusty on back . Then when I step on the bigger board I'm better at them too.

Talked about it a bit more here. Few other people on the skinny decks too in there. What size you skating ?

Does anyone notice a difference in people who skate low trucks vs high? I've read and heard time and time again that high trucks will give you more pop but then I think about Brandon Westgate, Luis Tolentino, or Nick Dompierre? They have a shit ton of pop yet they skate low trucks. I've noticed that some people who skate lows don't do as many lines, mainly singles. I can see high trucks allowing you to get more flow and carve with lines but does the higher center of gravity make you less stable? It's insane. There's also the marketing aspect to which could be true. The high vs low questions have always fascinated me ever since I found out about them a long time ago. I know this is the "Set-up" thread but seeing those venture lows just sparked me.

Pretty much the only two wheels I skate these days; F4 54mm classics (99a or 101a it don’t matter) and STF V3 54mm, I alternate between the two.

imo it's easier to set up on low trucks because they're less 'tippy' but they wheelbite way more. high trucks give a more satisfying pop, idk if they pop 'higher' though

DOA 8.5" flat
Ace 44
F4 Conical Full 52mm 99s
Reds/Bender allen/Jessup

Set this up a while ago with 55s and 51mm tablets, liked how it looked but wasn't feeling it. I took some time off from it, skated a shaped deck, came back to it in this new configuration and am now loving it. May size up a bit on the wheels next time for longevity but this one feels perfect.

I haven’t been seeing many of their boards available. Hopefully I don’t get kook it and get all focused on one dimension or board characteristic, and buy something different.

New drop is coming at the end of the month, I believe. This time around I don't think any of the shops got flat boards and he just sold them all direct (according to him, they don't sell for most places). If you hit him up he may still have one or two.

Baker 8.475
Venture 5.8s
Spitfire F4 99A 54mm
Random assortment of bearings
Shorty’s hardware Allen 1 inch
Mob grip

Wouldn't have guessed that was a Baker graphic.
