Basically a new-old skater here, first real setup in my life and I'm 29 years old, currently still trying to nail down a consistent ollie! Definitely wanna make some changes to this setup, but based it off of some of my older favorite skaters, like Mike V (58mm wheels and 1/8 risers).

Polar Dane shape
Venture 6.1 (1/8 shock pad risers)
Spitfire F4 conical full 58mm
Shake Junt Spencer Hamilton grip chopped up
Mini Logo hardware.

The Venture's feel super wobbly to me on stock bushings. I'm 6'7" around 200 lbs, so probably gonna try for some superkush harder duro bushings, based off what I read on here, and considering downsizing the wheels and ditching the riser/shock pad.
[close]

Glad you skating.
Everything is going to be wobbly. For years. I’d highly recommend just skating around for transportation, with like 90% of your skate time, and then work on ollies the other 10% (not a real formula). Try and resist the urge to buy different stuff. When the time comes to get a different board, a longer deck, with a longer wb might be easier, but that’s in the future. Your weight and those bushing are fine.
[close]

Thanks man! Appreciate it.
im 6’4” 200 and put in 97a dlx supercush in my 6.1. Like it. Also on my Dane 1 I paired w 53mm classics and no risers and it gave it new life. Wb def short though, wouldn’t get anything that short again anytime soon.

I've ridden nothing but popsicle boards with pretty pointy nose and tails my entire life. What's it like riding a board with a fuller nose / tail?

Hey man, welcome back. Im re-starting too 20 years later. Were the same size and I found Bones hardcore bushings in hard work great for me. I did just order some supercush bushings to  try. Yeah its all about regaining balance and confidence.

I like square tails a lot and its seems like the enlarged contact area helps with pop, but less easy with scooping tricks like 360flips or impossibles, though you can adjust fairly easy. I go for blunted shapes that are full but not fully square and I prefer that to the typical popsicle.

Agree on the short wheelbase I think, but fun shape. Where did you pick up the dlx supercush? Trying to find some online now. And thanks!

Yea man I’ve been thinking about the bones hard, I just wanna be able to try the cylinder/cone combo as well, cause I used to like Indy stock like that.
Yea balance has gotten better but zero confidence on my pop haha.

Trying to ride the out the rest of the year on only my own graphics

8.25 Losers (CCS custom/prime wood)
Tensors atg mag 5.5
Wreck 52mm 83b
Thunder hardware
Bones swiss bearings
Jessup

I'm skating The éS Symbol. Right now and they definitely aren't my favorite.

Not trying to tell you how to live your life. But if you ever make a batch of these. I’d get one. The graphics you have shown are awesome. Do you make the graphics?

All nosneb's setups are amazing. I wish my technical skills were anywhere beyond slappy crooks and the occasional heelflip so could justify skating something like that. So sick.

Skating in af1s is not easy.
Cyrus has an incredible kickflip (always) but wearing some, and puleo has put in much work. Gino, Reese had some clips. It’s really not easy. I frequently miss the board completely trying to kickflip

The twin nose AWS was great for the 3 days I skated it, but I broke the tail earlier. Skateboards break though, so it’s whatever. Tomorrow I’m skating a new complete

8.12 Anti Hero Eagle
ACE 03’s
52mm F4 Lock-Ins
Super Swiss 6
DC super suede Legacy Slims

Had almost this exact setup last summer - probably my favourite ride to date

Rocked 44's and big balls. Otherwise the same.
