Enjoyed the Real I had but it was missing the mark for me. Felt too small and pointy for me  :/ Shame, because I love DLX but the shape was not comfortable for me.
Switched to an AWS (BBS) I had on ice and I was pleasantly surprised at how much better I was skating and how much better it felt :D
Frankie Spears Sacred Geometry 8.5" x 32.25" (such a good length imo) x 14.25" (not sure about this WB because I didn't see it listed anywhere but it feels like other 14.25" I've had)
Mob Grip
Indy 149 standard hangar with hollow kingpin/standard baseplate
Bones STF 54mm V4 Wides. I like em but I prefer V5 every day of the week over these but I'm trying not to complain/be too picky because of product shortages :]

That is one beautiful looking setup.

I’d been hankering for a Zip Zinger but didn’t really want to have to shell out on a full set up. Remembered I had some ancient blue Royals in the shed, attached to a Zoo York ‘Warriors’ board which was my last set up before a lengthy break from skating. I’d never got rid of it and checked the truck size and they were perfect for the Zinger. I understand coloured trucks are a no-go these days and maybe always were and that Royals are rubbish too, I originally got them as they were the cheapest in the shop, along with some Ricta seconds that were meant to have a plastic coloured ring around the hole but were missing. I’m not fussed though as this is just a fun set-up for cruising around. I also liked the fact the truck colour went with the board graphic.
Spent a while trying to decide on wheels then saw someone here recommending the Cadillacs for a Zip Zinger set up in the cruiser wheels thread and they looked perfect (thanks to whoever that was!) 78a, should be good for rough South London pavements. They even come in blue which I thought would be perfect to keep the colour theme going. Found one shop in the UK which had blue in stock, ordered them only to be contacted and told they only had the yellow, or ‘beer’ as they’re officially called, in. So I went with those and actually really like how they look on the overall set-up, especially as I decided to put the pink sticker on as well, think all blue might have been overkill. Might not be to everyone’s taste but I’m liking it.

Krooked Zip Zinger ‘Jacket Klub’ 7.75
Ancient Blue Royals (will replace bushings at some point)
Cadillac Wheels ‘Beer’ 56mm 78a
Indy 7’s bearings (would usually get Reds but these were the only thing in stock at a similar price. Seem fine so far)
[close]

That might have been me, my man! The setup looks great and I'm glad you like the wheels, I ended up liking them a lot too. Just a heads up - there's a cruiser setup thread here: https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=38836.0

Ah yes thanks Deekay and sorry mate, I should have just checked the thread and given you a proper shout out at the time. Yeah the wheels are great so far, as you said, will see how the square edges hold up but they definitely roll nice and smooth. Thanks also for the link to the cruiser thread, I'll repost it there.

TwisT - I hadn't thought of the Carolina connection with the truck colour but I like it, I am a Charlotte Hornets fan since a kid (I know, I know...) so picked the Tar Heels as my college team of choice, keeping it in the NC family. Not that I follow closely as we don't get much coverage at all over here in the UK but I will now think of these trucks as a nod to the team  :) And yeah, took me a while to convince my parents to shell out on a decent set-up as a kid too!

Snapped my 2nd deck in 6 months while doing flat ground kickflips. Deck was only 2 sessions old but I got the entire setup second hand because I wanted to try a PS Stix board while selling the trucks and wheels. Even though it was a pro model (Appleyard), there was no PS Stix laser etching and the sticker says made in China. It was a shame too, the mellower concave was growing on me.

And before PS Stix before that. I'm way more skeptical of skating older boards now especially since I live in the tropics; wood and glue don't do well with the heat and humidity.

Might as well, I just listened to the Appleyard / Nine Club episode where he called COVID-19 fake news.

Again, hate that brand, but that deck is a heater.
And the truck/wheel combo is fucking ideal. I’m looking for bigheads as my next.

^I honestly don't know anything about the brand. I guess I should check it out to see what I'm supporting. I'm bad about that. I usually just buy based on shape. There was a major shortage at my local and this was the only 8.0 with my preferred WB and concave. I love the graphic too.

What's up with everyone skating with single rails? Are they for slappy setups? Seen a few guys at the park skate the rails and ledges with these attached.

Aaah okay I should have figured that. I started really skating in 2000, after the world era, so for the longest time I just associated the brand with flame boy and wet Willy. Now trilogy is my favorite video. So I didn’t even really know what I was mimicking with the squares haha I’ve just seen it done a few times. A lot of my homies and locals here are on that crooked grip job with a bunch of top ply showing. It does kinda look cool sometimes I guess.

I do the semi crooked, mainly so I don’t have to file/cut an edge, and it lets me know which way is what.

The squares is also a Puleo thing. I love it too but I've always just bought sheets of Jessup.

Setup looks great. I coincidentally bought lows and 50mm bigheads the other day. I don't know if I will necessarily skate the lows out of the gate or anything but I want the option for if I get something with steeper kicks and I love how they look so much. Seeing them in this thread definitely got me feeling some kind of way.

Thanks! Yeah I’ve been waiting for the local re up but.....
I also realized that I kinda keep wheels, and decks, way too long. Tendency to swap worn out wheels onto my low setups and then be bummed when they don’t roll well. It’s been so long since I’ve had bigheads specifically. The sfw wheel was a fave, has some bounce. Same compound, I think?

Worth it it you like full shapes but not overly full like FA/Hockey or some WKND. Although, not all their shapes are full/squared off from what I saw online.

MalHuis, I agree and wish I tried one out sooner after a couple sessions!

Same compound, I think?
yeah classic formula..? Sfw bigheads and classics I’d think all the same. Could be wrong?

Nah, you're right. Same compound.
