@TwisT make something with a 14” WB for us vertically challenged!

@RichardBarkley that looks fun. Tempted to dip my feet in a sub 8 because of the lightness and responsiveness.
Nothing I do deserves more than an iphone camera.

That lil Polar is tight. When ya’ll switch sizes do you just jump straight to it or switch over gradually with some in-between sizes?

Got a sub8 on ice but after skating 8.5 for years it looks like drastic. Slowly working down.

I went from 8.25 straight to 8. So it's not as drastic as 8.5 to sub 8, but I liked it more than I didnt.
Plus idk what's in the middle of 8.25 to 8, maybe 8.06?
Whoa. Danger.

8.1 DOA Toe Tag (Flat as Fuck) special edition hangman top graphic
Venture standard 5.6
NFG 54mm square shape
Flip hkd 7 bearings
Jessup ultra

Haven't actually skated it yet but just popping some stuff and fiddling around on the sidewalk I think I'm going to like it a lot. South central red stains look so fucking good.

while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

It's actually the steepest of the 3 I got. I got an 8.25 that must have been bottom of the stack, that one might be the flattest E mold I've had yet. Might actually be one of the flattest decks I've had period, only ones that are even in the same neighborhood are a PGI blood wizard and a Scumco Kyle Nicholson from the broadcast series (pretty sure its the same mold as the toy machine mellow decks). This whole batch seems flatter than usual, looking forward to getting an actual session in on it this weekend.

That DOA looks nice I was thinking about trying a FAF but they sold out quick.

Just set up this Socal X8 Blank and so far the shape looks good for being symmetrical, similar to the real/krooked twin tail but with a 14.25 wheelbase instead of 14.4
SML 101a Vcut
Indy 144 Hollows

That DOA is purdy. All the 8.25 flats were gone in half an hour, I almost pulled the trigger on that 8.1 but I didn't. Oh well, my current flat is pretty fresh and should get me to the next drop.

8x32 Aaron Herrington Polar
ACE lows
52mm F4 Lock-In’s
Super Swiss 6

8.38x32.2 Christian Maalouf WKND that Grant had given me long before the Johan shit came to light
Madness cheater rails that I mis-drilled before losing a screw
Thunder 149’s
54mm Aaron Herrington SML‘S. I don’t know what they call their wheel shapes, but it’s similar to a conical
Bones Reds

I took a week off of skating because my back and leg were hurting. I leadfooted a tre flip and broke my few session old deck. I was pretty bummed out about that. I started skating my curb shuffle board, but re-hurt my back

What's the wheelbase on the Polar? Does riding Ace trucks make the board feel too light?

@rocklobster the wheelbase is at 14”. I wouldn’t say the trucks make the board feel any lighter than normal. Some flip tricks just don’t seem to work with them still though. I can’t do 360 flips consistently anymore. Sometimes it feels like I’ve never done one in my life. On other tricks I’ll bend down and the trucks will wiggle just enough to throw me off center as I‘m popping. It’s not a matter of looseness/tightness either because I have them as similarly loose as I would with any other truck

What is the nose and tail length on the B&C board? How steep are the kicks?
How much for an order of ribs?

8 x 32 x 14 is my jam, I recently got a Polar that was 8.125 x 31.8 x 14.25 that I'm keen to try too. Mind's been wondering about Ace trucks but not sure if the shortened wheelbase would work for me, experience with Indys has been so-so.

Less is more (positive for skateboarding results).
I think just sticking with whatever, for better and worse, is a better strategy, for actual skateboarding proficiency. Trying stuff is fun, too, but I can’t think it’s helpful for me.

You're right, been selling off my under-utilized trucks, wheels and boards to avoid gear hoarding.

Better than I. I just talk shit about others and keeps my trucks (whilst contemplating acquiring others). I’ve seriously bought newer sets of several trucks I’ve given away previously. It’s good to have less tho. For reals.
