I believe you need a business license to work with Generator. There's also a 10min per size.

Yeah some woodshops don't allow you to purchase blanks unless you have a registered business that is skateboarding related. Seems like going through the CCS route would be the most hassle free.

I was thinking that too. Would ccs handle shipping as well...id want the decks sent to Australia

Are you rocking the Rowley Classics in white gum? Saw a pair on sale and they are looking really good in white.

Yeah Rowleys...they look great, but not made for skating...i had to get FP insoles, otherwise there was no support. Nonetheless I’ve been diggin them since

Hello all,

I'm a new user, but an old school skateboarder! Lol  :P

I used to skate back in the 80's and I still have my Powell Peralta Tony Hawk XT Screaming Chicken Iron Cross original skateboard!

I just setup a skateboard to have fun again. I did it 90's style.
Blank 90s/Pool deck with tiny wheels.

Special Shape Blank 90s/Pool Board

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLANK-POOL-SKATEBOARD-DECK-4-SHAPES-4-SIZES-OLD-SKOOL-80S-90S-STYLE-NEW/202561485626?hash=item2f299afb3a:g:lkEAAOSwUpFcNezW

Length X Width - 32.25 X 9 INCHES
Wheelbase - 14.75 INCHES

Independent 159 Stage XI Forged Hollow Trucks
Nicotine Smoke Stacks 1/8" Risers[I'm old and added them to absorb impact]
Rellik Titanium Ceramic Bearings
44mm 101a "Squared Shape" Wheels
Mob Griptape[I did a horrible job]
No Name Hardware

Can't wait to try this out and have fun!  :)

Cheers!

I have been skating 8.5’s for the last nine years straight now, and before that I was between 8 and 8.25 for a while; I don’t think I’ve been on 7.75s since 2007 or early 2008. For the past few months now though I’ve been thinking about doing a 7.75 setup on the side, just to fuck around on and maybe use when I’m trying more technical shit, and plus it just sounds like it’d be a fun lil change. I’ve had the idea in the back of my head for a while but never got around to doing it cuz it would always slip my mind whenever I was at the shop and even if it was on my mind when I was at the shop they just wouldn’t ever have any 7.75s in; ever. “They just don’t sell dude” is what they’d tell me.
Well, just yesterday i found this, a 7.75, tucked away in the corner; I couldn’t believe it; and it was only like 30 bucks too. At that moment I knew if I was going to go through with my idea I’d have to do it then and there, so I said fuck it and bought the board. Not a big fan at all of the graphic but I’ll manage. Dug through my box of used skate stuff when I got home for trucks and wheels and stuff and before I knew it I finally had my 7.75 setup.
I haven’t had a chance to really skate it yet, only did some mellow cruising, and I’m not gonna lie, going from 8.5 straight to this is making this feel like penny board to me, but towards the end of cruising around it started feeling a bit more comfy to me. I’m pretty excited to see how I fair on this thing.

- ATM 7.75
- Some old ass barely used stage 9 129 Indy lows that I found in my closet, I have no idea how I got these trucks or where they came from because I’ve never skated a set of Indy lows in my life, but they were somehow in my closet and the only trucks I had laying around that would fit this board so I threw em on. My friend said he was gonna hook me up with some Indy stage 11 129 standards though so once I get those imma throw those on and toss the lows back aside.

I’m not particularly proud of this next one, but there’s a hardgoods drought, and it was free. It’s also the second Primitive that I’ve cracked in the first session this year. So far the crack is only an inch wide and through the top 5 plys on my heel edge. I might get a few more days out of it

I love free stuff but if you gave me 3 Primitive Rick and Morty boards with the damn Pickle Rick Griptape I would need to have a long hard think before begrudgingly accepting it.

I'll gladly ride the shittiest graphics if I means getting the boards at a discount; hell I bought a janky setup with glow-in-the-dark Bam x Destructo trucks just because I wanted the Rob Welsh board it was attached to.

8.125 Generator Blank from Canada Skate Shop
Venture 5.6 V-Hollow
Bones V3 52mm 101a
Bones Swiss
Jessup
Assorted Bolts

Decided to stick with 1 size and brand to force myself to get used to 1 size, have a Magenta 8.125 on ice. I snapped my first Generator Blank after 4 weeks of skating, bummer since it still had at least another 2 weeks of life and the grip / tail were wearing in very nicely.

Initially setup an Almost Impact deck to try out a shorter board (8 x 31.6 x 14) since I had a few shorter boards coming in state side. Couldn't make up my mind about the trucks but more importantly I didn't want to face the wrath of the message board for riding an Almost deck.

This hit home with me, as I just dropped down to 7.6-7.75 boards after contemplating it for a very long time. I actually even convinced myself that I finally beat my gear madness. However this weekend I was skating a ledge with my new 7.6 and I realized even my basic ass ledge tricks that I do all felt very awkward. Maybe the small trucks were fucking me up, maybe it was the overall weight idk, but I grabbed a 8.25 I had set up and everything felt way better. Now I am stuck in madness mode again. I was thinking keep the sub 8 setups for learning new and re-learning lost fliptricks and shit, and skating 8.1s and 8.25s as my daily driver. As much as I wanted it I don't think I can get comfortable on the really small setups again. I know 8.1s and 8.25s are certainly not big but I'm old and have tired legs so I really feel the difference.

I set up that 8.06" with lows a page or so back just to have a "small" board to mess around with. I've always kind of been against having multiple setups, but it has been nice to have it to scratch that itch and to be able to roll around on when I feel like I need a break from my usual board.

^Got some cousins 7.5 Enjoi completes. They aren’t into them and I was pushing around for fun. I like how light they feel and maybe the Tensors are why but I was doing manuals with ease and had so more pop than I was scared to do (I don’t want to snap their boards).

The Primitive cracked to the point of being unskateable so I set this up

Krooked Brad Cromer shape. At its widest it’s an 8.38 but tapers down putting it in my size range. I was going to skate it as a cruiser originally, but figured I’d spice things up for a couple weeks. I slammed and fell flat on my face first try of my first trick

Blue top ply. I’m not a big believer in the red ply curse or a lot of other superstitious things. I have a couple reds in my stack and they look pretty good tbh

I actually prefer red tops to probably any other color, especially if it's a nice deep cherry red. I have a red top/bottom DOA toe tag flat and it's gorgeous. Blue (actual blue, not teal) is another one I don't seem to come across that often but really like how they look. I'd probably say red/blue/yellow tops are the best looking ones, then orange/brown/black/green are slightly lower on my ranking but still good. Purple and natural I don't really like but will still skate.

Pink tops can go fuck themselves. It was OK for like the first one or two boards but they've become so prevalent that like 70% of the boards I bought online were fucking pink tops. I would be very happy if someone started a "no more pink" petition to send to all the woodshops.

one does not simply.. have a set of yellow navigator trucks on hand untouched in 2020

Debated whether or not to reveal this because I don't want to be responsible if seventyfrigginseven's head actually explodes but the navigators aren't just yellow.

i knew satan was my friend, should have never questioned his taste in trucks
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo
