Quasi 8.5
Ace 44s w Riptide pivot cups
53 Oj Hardline 101s
bones reds, no shields

First time skating a Quasi (have a couple wall hangers), and its night and day better than the POS Toy Machine I had.  Was worried about the squareness of the nose and tail (usually prefer something more tapered), but it feels really good.  Wondering if I would do better on an 8.25, but this is working for now.  Could see this being a regular thing.

Same. Once I started riding a Quasi, it was hard to ride anything that wasn’t square.

Pretty much agree with this although I go back and forth with quasi boards and passport boards. The squareness of the board pretty much gives you a corner that really helps with scooping 360 flips and back 360s. I skated this same deck 2 years ago but stopped skating it after a while because I was gifted a new deck (It wasn't broken but it was chipped up/skated but not to the point where I'd usually stop skating a board). I just set it up on some old trucks (that I put new bushings in) and wheels to skate in the rain on Wednesday and it still felt spectacular.

I'm skating one of the bobby dekeyser quasi promodels right now and it feels good and it feels square, but for some reason that old board's wood feels better and the shape feels more square. That could just be me being crazy though.

Snapped my 8.38 girl deck because I'm a crazy person that gets mad when the board doesn't do what I want it to do.
So here is a new board.

Magenta 8.25
Independent 144 w/ replacement baseplates and thunder pivot cups
Indy hardware
Bones Medium bushings (the clicking noises has stopped!! ;D)
Mob Grip cuz the shop didn't have Jessup.
Spitfire F4 classics 53mm 99duro (they're definitely not 53mm anymore)
Bones china reds

Won't need this for a few more weeks as my old Shin still has some life in it but I set this up out of rainy day boredom.

Shin Cutaway 8.75" up front and 8.38" out back.
Indy Stage 8 146s (my local bike shop gifted me these trucks this summer, barely used) with Krux Downlow kingpins and newer aftermarket Indy 88a Barrel bushings and 1/'8" risers.
Spitfire F4 99a 56mm Classic Wides. Colored wheels always look good in the shop and then I regret getting them but I think these look good on this white deck.
Bones 6Ball, just soaked in gasoline and re-lubed.

This board is stationary nose wheeler beast. I can't wait to try it tomorrow with shoes. Maybe tonight.

Traffic x orchard 8.2
(perfect WB was just over 14") I assume low in the stack because is nice and flat. Probably a k shape no stamp. Could be bbs but the mystic advisor had a larger wb.

Maybe it a custom wb? My Measuring stuff is MIA.

Vhollow 5.6 flat washer. No hot rod parts. I haven't been grinding much lately but these are fully broken in. Turing so nicely.

my AH has my groovy cast 5.6s
this new set up will be introduced slowly till one is dead.

Loopholes 54 tear drops shape

They hang no problem. I wish I could use the spacers I'm not going to lie.

They should fix that eventually. If it happened more than twice I'd be over them. I want my bearings to spin at the same rate and handle impact have no side to side play

I tore down all my regular reds then rebuilt a set from the best parts.

Wtf is up with regular reds since like 2017? They totally suck.

Gnar to everyone on the right stuff. This thread is looking killer.

Those wheels look great on this setup.  Very nice!

Love this board. I looked at it for a while but went with an AWS because I’m familiar with the shape and tired of trying new stuff only to come back to the squareish 8.25 I love. That being said, I would try one of these!

My current setup:

Indy forged hollow 144 w/Indy aftermarket bushings
Bones Easy Streets V1 53mm
Bones Swiss (no shields)

Since a lot of DOA is inspired by late 90s graphics and vibes I was blessed to meet someone else who is into the same era but in shapes! So yea might as well make it fully the 90s look with the tapered shape and smaller wheels

Honestly really impressed with them so far. I been a bit disappointed with the latest adidas skate shoes tbh, I always need to do something to them to get the right fit. With these Puigs they just fit right, nice and comfortable but snug with a good heel lock. I’ll be buying more of them.

fucking existential gear crisis over here.  the 8.5 i was running felt good, but was a real chore to flip around, so i kicked it down to a friend

Traffic Deshi 8.25
Ace 44/riptide cups
OJ hardline 53
Gilbert His

This thing feels tiny, but I'm gonna commit to skating this size until it feels comfortable.  Weird how 8.25 would have felt huge back in the day, but now it feels like a 7.75 to me.

I found the Dickies slim taper pant, and I think thats gonna be my go-to from here on out.

Just realizing from this shot that the Gilberts remind me a lot of the Omar Nikes

This is sick. Makes me want to commit to some aces. I feel like 8.25 and 44s would be a sweet spot. Also wasn’t feeling the Gilbert’s until I saw this pic, they look so much better broken in. Will pick some up now.

the Gils feel great broken in.  The canvas is holding up really well too.  The stitches blow out in certain spots, but i put a layer of superglue on the ollie areas and they've been lasting fine
