Set up a new deck towards the end of the sesh last night

Although it’s the same width as my last deck in this shape it appears to be 31.5 long and not 31.7 but I’m sure it will work

Roger 8.25 tugboat
Venture 5.6 ti axle cast plates with riptides
52 spitfire f4 classics

8.25 Plus skateshop/Evan Smith guest board
Ace 44s
Spit F4 tablets, 52/99a
Quantum Bearing Science Atoms

took a break from the blanks for a bit.  cool shape; really tapered, almost like a football.  its gonna take some getting used to.  only pet peeve is no colored bottom ply and the paint is too sticky, but should be fine once i scrape most of it off.  Went a little softer on the wheels; not sure how I feel about it.  board felt kinda dead.  Bearings are great so far

Magenta 8.875 team leaf stain (WB 14.75")
Ace 55s
Magenta 53mm power wheels
Bronson G3s
Mob, always Mob.

Been playing around with different setups to skate my mini most effectively. I am a big guy and I realized that the speed I generated on bigger wheels wasnt working for me to learn, and a longer wheel base (15") was actually making it more difficult too. I remember when I first came back to skating I got a Traffic that was the same shape. Pretty full nose and tail, nothing too wild. Medium concave. Good middle-of-the-road mild board.

Got one more complete in the works as I try to get over my perpetual angst about owning multiple skateboards. More on that soon....
ok thanks

Pass-Port 8.125
Venture v lights 5.2
Spitfire conical F4 52mm
Bones swiss

I recently tried going down to an 8”, skated it for a few days and hated every second, everything felt so unstable, crazy what 0.125 of an inch will do haha. First session in this felt so much better. Slightly sad I forgot to take a picture of this board before the session, such a beautiful graphic.
skating is all about choosing your outfit very deliberately, going out in public. looking super sick. and then riding your board a little bit

@augustmoon : would ride, very nice graphic, i find.

The National Skate Co. 8.25 14.25 Medium concave
Ace 44 with mag plates, riptides, no top washer, and back on normal kingpins (but one got super wobbly, if i hammer in a new one, should it fix the problem?)
Spit Radial 99a 52mm? (from 58)
Bones swiss 6 (awesome)
Mob (Thank you to the Pal who posted the poem in a thread not long ago, can't remember which)
Blazers (is there any shoe that would be more ethical yet very similar in feel?)

New grip/new vulc combo is too nice! <3

I am not alone when I say I always found the BBS 8.0 variant was just a weird shape and feel when compared to the 8.125 or 8.18 decks, which just felt so much better overall.  That tiny bit more width was just the tip of the iceberg it would seem to have a great setup.
Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Haven't bought a board since 2006. And the last time I posted on skateboard messageboard was a forum called Skateboard City.

Welcome back on-board and... on-board! Skateboard City was fun, my older brother had a profile on it and would post, I'd watch over his shoulder. Good times.

It won't. The wobble is caused by a enlarged or ovaled kingpin hole.

Thanks! I went to the skatepark for the first time since then last weekend and I had no idea about scooters and kids being able to do backflips and shit with them.

Haha hopefully the guys on Skateboard City were nicer to your brother than they were to me.

It’s the same on 8 through 8.25, but the kicks change. I had a weird experience with a Carpet, but got used to it and they’re basically the same shape. The 8.125 has a shorter tail than the other 2 and the kicks feel a bit flatter. The nose is flatter fore sure there is a gap if you lay on top of one of the others.

Custom shape made by a man I found on the insta explore page called PrettyRad. I pitched the idea of the Jason Lee burgerking with Steve Olson style stingers. Its 9.75 up top and 9.25 at the bottom. 14 inch wheelbase. Painted it myself. Pretty sure I ride 149s, always have just ridden that truck size no matter what size my board is. F4 classics. My flip tricks arent happening on this board but its fun and comfortable and all my shove its are just fine.

I traced the shape out before i set it up in case I ever needed it for anything. Because of the hand cut nature its not perfect,  the stingers dont match up and the square tail is a little lopsided but I like it nonetheless. You can kinda see it in this photo

i really dig it man - i find the 14.4 wb on the longer side so the aces ‘bringing it in’ definitely helps. im a big fan of aces and the 44 in general, such a versatile size and the turn is great. there’s no other truck i’d rather use on this deck

Thunder Team Hollow base plates, 148 Ti hangers, new Thunder stock bushings thanks to a Pal
Spitfire classic 52 99a
Thunder 7/8 Allen
Quantum Isotopes
Small mixed breed pupper

Kinda cool that it’s all skater-owned parts. After 3 similar shapes in a row I wanted to try a slightly longer board/wheelbase, but then I sprained/potentially ruptured my ankle yesterday.
