New wheels, so new deck too, but I machined off the swirl graphic so they are very clean looking now.
Definitely like the 97 duro for the newer slippery concrete parks.
I love 97...my slimeballs are my favourite wheels...once they’re done ill try the spits too.
Also 8.38 size seems to be my new sweet spot, how you liking it with 149’s??
I have always found that the DLX 8.38 boards are almost the same as or round 8.5 in width anyway, so 149s with 2 or 3 washers on the inside have worked well for me, as I like the wheels right on the edge lining up with the deck. There are lots of guys who ride 159s on 8.5 boards, so this is pretty much the same feeling I guess, only not quite as big. I have tried it and have a board or two still set up with that combination, but for a regular ride this one works best overall.
For those who want the wheels sitting inside, washers on either side still hide the wheels enough but keep the board stable, but before 144s came out, most people who skated 8.25s used 149s anyway as thin wheels would still sit well. The rail / street tech guys I know use 144s on 8.38 but the narrower truck works well for rail / ledge / flip tricks for them, but feels way too narrow for me when I set up my normal board like that.
Personal preference and trick selection plays a big part in how a board is set up and although I feel like I am losing more tech / flip tricks nowdays, I still don't quite want to give up on the 8.38 all rounder board, otherwise I would be just going with 8.75 to 9.0 and enjoying going faster and doing less.
