Started thinking the actual truck width (re: board leverage affecting turning) is the edges of the wheel contact patch. Even with fat wheel that comes to 8.5” here

8.75 overly long shop deck, chopped to 32” with a shovel nose and redrilled 14” wb
Spit conical full 56mm 97a and radial 53mm 99a
Ace 55 classic with inverted kingpin

It's not that you stepped on toes, it's that someone corrected your assumption. Notice nobody flamed you or lashed out, just told you why it's actually really bad, and potentially even worse.

Tired 'Stump Nose' 8.75"
Mob grip
Indy 159 Forged Hollow
Indy Hard bushings
Indy 1" Allen bolts
OJ Keyframe Skate Jawn 87a 54mm
Bones Swiss 6
Bones 1/8" risers
OJ Juice Bars
Mammoth double sided tape

The shape of this reminds me of boards from around 90/91 which is when I was fully immersed in skating and have my best memories.  The concave is quite steep though, most decks back then were quite flat so I'll need to see how this feels.
I've put soft wheels on for now as I'll start using it as a cruiser since I'm recovering from injury then I plan to swap for some OJ Nomads 95a and use for street.

I haven't put rails on for many years and I'm guessing that the gap below is because I didn't pre-drill my holes?  If I unscrew, pre-drill and re-screw will the rails hold or should I start again and re-position them slightly with new holes?

A few comments after my first session on this board:

- I love the shape, I feel much more stable with a more square tail compared to my 8" popsicle and the steepness seems to give nice pop (in combination with my trucks/wheels). The concave is steep but I like it.
- The wheels feel much harder than 87a, more like 95/97a but they don't slide like a 95/97a.  Not such a bad thing as I was going to swap them over for a harder wheel anyway.
- My bushings don't feel hard.  I screwed them down quite tight but then the washer started to cut into the bushing so I loosened them again.  It might be because they haven't worn in it or perhaps it's because 'hard' bushings these days are just not as hard as they used to be.  The last replacement set I bought were Supercush 97a in around 1991.
- I got my rails drilled down nice and tight.  The key was to use some support underneath and a longer screwdriver so that I could apply more pressure and get more torque.
- Bones Swiss 6 seem to be smoother than standard Bones Swiss although for a direct comparison I need to try them in the same wheel.
- Mob grip not sticking very well and not grippy enough for me, I much prefer Jessup.
- Risers are a must for me.  They give the board a nice warm sound which reminds me of the early 90s.

Overall I'm really pleased with the set-up. 8.75" feels right for me as a cruiser/street set-up and I'll keep my 8" popsicle for flatground/park technical.  I'm yet to try this board on transition so will have to see how the wheelbase feels, might need to get another setup together.

First session, prayers were answered and I managed to find some dry spots. Always impressed with how quickly indys break in. This set up feels lovely, flip tricks didn’t feel too much harder (I regularly skate 8-8.25) the taper on tail and nose definitely helps! Really like how the spitfire tablets feel too, I think this and the 9.4 eggs from heroin are my favourite egg shapes I’ve tried but I’m intrigued to try the 9.125 with some 159 indys, anyone tried that setup?

I'm superstitious about skating boards that I got injured on, so the grimple true full got retired early and I set this up. Then it started raining.

Heroin Symmetrical egg
Ace af1 66
nfg mfg 60mm V cuts (actual diameter is more like 58.5)
Quantum atoms
bronze 1" phillips all day

Wow, I think I’d end up buying a new deck every day if I lived by that rule hahah

Nice set up 👍

After getting back into it and moving up and down in size to be with the times, I think I’m settled on something in this mid life venture back into skating. Go figure it’s the size from my youth.

I got a pack of them, along w/ a cool SLAP beanie & SLAP T-shirt, as part of my first (of many) perk packages that I got for free when I upgraded my SLAP membership.
If you choose to pay a little extra for one of the premium level memberships (silver, gold, or platinum) you get all sorts of cool bonuses.
I opted for the platinum which costs a little more but includes special bonuses like free airport pickup/drop-off, hotel discounts in select cities, and best of all, access to the Champagne Room when I stop by the SLAP Club’s physical location here in SF.
Not to mention, all the cool limited edition shit they send you on a quarterly basis.
Definitely worth the extra $$$.

A Matt Rod board. It's got a funky shape to it but Matt Rod is one of my all time favorites. Added some old indys with the soft bones bushings and new pivot cups with some 54mm Satori wheels. No fancy grip, just Jessup. I set this up before christmas but I've been so goddamn busy with school that all I can do is look at it.

Do you have any more info on this deck, like dimensions and what woodshop it's from by chance? It looks really similar to a Watson laminates pressed H-street shape that I have.

I actually don't have an upgraded membership currently, but a buddy of mine is also Platinum and he gave this one to me (he has more than he'll ever need). I'm really considering spending the few bucks to upgrade to at least Silver for more stickers and my very own SLAP fanny pack to carry them around in.

Snack 8.25 x 31.6 14.2wb
Tensor mag light ATG 5.5 (8.25 axle)
Medium Film aftermarket bushings (shout-out to Daclin for hooking it up)
Bones easy street 54mm 99a v4 wide
Junk ceramics
J'essup, the French version of jessup.

Old man with a hurt back in a cold basement setup. The nose is comical on this thing, you couldn't miss your flick if you tried. It's not as square as some snack boards I've had (especially the tail) but it's still pretty square. PS wood feels so good when it's well below freezing and the humidity drops. It stays pliable but feels super light and snappy, the board just sticks to your feet. Now I just need the snow/ice/salt to melt so I can actually take it outside and ruin it. I wish I still had my little doodies, they were perfect for these kinds of setups.

Chocolate couch shape
Indy Ti 169s with Riptides
F4 radial fulls
Swiss
Mob
hardware

Thanks @PuffinMuffin for the excellent Slap stickers!

Been skating on and off since the late 90’s and this is my first Chocolate/Girl board.  Wanted to give this shape a shot.  It would probably work better with 159s but I want to keep rocking with this set of 169s on all of my main setups until they’re axeled.
