First session on this felt really good, been skating Indy and Venture the past year and these Lurpivs didn't take much adjusting.

Skated my 15 year old daughter's 8.06 DGK yesterday, and really liked it.  I'm 49, but really want to learn flip tricks again.  Decided to try something a little different, so cut my 8.5 (originally 9.0 Creature Stu Graham with 15" WB) down to 8.125. Have some stage IV Indy 146 with 58mm OJ. Shortened the tail too. Had originally used chem tool on tail for more fingers of flat, but resulted in a tail in the 7.125" area. Definitely feels easier to try and flip. Making it my goal before 50. Learn 5 decent flat ground trucks.  Also tried to shape nose and tail to a full shape so would be a smidge wider for my big feet when I go to the park (small transition).  I would highly recommend people cut/shape their boards if they feel like it would benefit them. Jig saw with high velocity blade, small hand planer, file, fine sand paper, and wood sealer spray can.  It's pretty fun to nerd out on that shit.

New specs: 8.125"/WB:14.6"/N:7"/T: 6.75"; 6' tall, size 13 shoes, 220lb. Will be 50 Xmas '22.

Pylon 8.25 x 14.5 (measures 14.38) x 32 - art by Dave Stiegerwald. This deck has quite full kicks, steep concave, and steep kicks. The company advertises that it's made in Alberta, so I'm guessing it's made by Control, based on the awesome 3 blue stained plies. They are great boards and I'd recommend them for anyone who likes steeper decks.

Definitely take your time with it, but it is so easy, almost like a giant scratchie really.

Way easier on a "part graphic" than a full graphic board.  I took off a couple of others in previous experiments, more so just to see how it went, but it is definitely more scratch than cut with a blade.

If it's made in Alberta it's not control. They're out of Quebec. The boards suck too. I'm sure there's some smaller lib-tech style western Canada woodshop (maybe whoever skull skates uses?) out there but I have no idea who it is.

Hot damn! You're wild! I get frustrated when I get 15 minutes into a grip job I thought was a good idea before I started. Hahaha. That's sick, though. The classic eagle is a great graphic, but it looks fuckin TOUGH on the stained ply.

You might be right.  I had previously thought they were pressed by Olive but I don't know if that makes sense either.  They are offering this pipeline construction which is SEVERE concave, and I don't think I've ridden something similar in recent memory, which makes me think it's not from a major shop.  Also, there's obvious attention to detail with the layering of the plies so it made me think of a smaller woodshop where a smaller brand will get better treatment.

Funny I set up that same deck the other day.

Then had a "graphic crisis" and had to find a raw parking block to get rid of most of it, but I saw it had a really nice aqua colour bottom stain so that was more the inspiration to de-graphic that board.

As far as shape and feel, they are pretty much perfect to me.

Thankfully I didn't just sit down and do it all in one go.

I was almost going to give up / just do the whole lot a few times, but after walking away and doing something else, I came back and kept at it a bit longer.

Short of putting it away and not looking at it for a week, while I skated other boards, it was a hide it or finish it, type of thing for me.

Blisters and RSI and finally done, but I don't think I will do another one any time soon like that.
