Forgot to take a pic til a few minutes into the session:
Polar Herrington 8.625
Ace AF1 Low 60
Pig ProLine 51mm
Quantums
Jessup

Been riding 8.75s for the past 2+ years. The other dimensions (length, wb) on this 8.625 are identical to the Polar 8.75 just shaved down by 1/8 on the width, but somehow feels so much smaller and lighter.  I really enjoyed it, had one of the best skate days in a long time.

I consider myself a connoisseur of purple stains and this my friend is one of the best looking ones I have seen! Normally I am not into blanks but I would love this one.

Got rid of the last of my four consecutive Neen twin noses today, on to the Foys. To be honest I am a bit scared to test it, even if it is a twin as well, its quite a bit shorter with shorter wheelbase and steeper concave.

Deathwish Foy twin tail 8.5 / a hair under 32 / 14.28 WB
Miles
Indy 149 hollows (stock)
Bones 100s (used to be 52 but now more like 46)
Swiss, one of them not spinning like it should
Diamond 7/8 allen bolts

I am going to change the wheels soon as I have some Lil Smokies and Swiss 6 balls lying around but I couldn't change the bloard and the wheels at the same time.

I also did a lot of grinds lately so the Indys wore down quite a bit to the point I often hang up on the kingpin, which is mildly annoying but doesn't justify getting new trucks just yet.

I didn’t know deathwish made 8.5s with a smaller wb than 14.5 let alone a twin nose. This shape seems awesome.

Black Label punk point still has life, but I wanted a more square tail. Might set up the BL again later down the line.

Dogtown Tschoff Karma 'Puppet' Deck 9.625" x 32.375" with 14.5-15" adjustable wheelbase (set at 14.5")

Independent Standard 159s with IKP baseplate set, 92a top bushing and 90a bottom bushing

Powell Peralta Dragon Formula 56mm 93a V6

Bones Super Reds Ceramics

Independent x Slayer 1" hardware

Rib Bones

Jessup Ultra

For those interested in the Dogtown 90s reissue series, for whatever reason the shorter wheelbase holes were drilled by hand. They still work as usual, but the drill job is ugly and rough.

Neen had a twin nose, with the noses coming at 7“. The Foy is more like a hybrid, the tails are 6.75“.

Coming from the long Neen, the Foy seemed very short and stubby at the first short session I had but it was not an issue to adjust to the length. I was just surprised how perceptible the difference is.
why come?

How are the low’s?
I like them a whole lot, they give you that nice Ace turn with good stability (something I found missing from the Indy Ti's I was last on) but even with the 51mm's I'm realizing that the wheelbite is a real problem. Been contemplating if I should get some small risers for the next setup

Liking the colours on this one. Is this the KF 8.38 shape with 14.3 something WB? How do you find it pairs with the thunders?  Just curious because i ride same combo (148’s with 8.38)

Thanks! It is the generic bbs 8.38x14.38x32 mold that quite a few brands like Pass~Port, Sci Fi, etc. use. I have ridden it on Thunders, Indy forged, Indy Standard, and even Ventures and love it on the Thunders.  It's very similar to the DLX 8.25 but as a slightly longer tail and shorter nose but they skate super similar. I haven't found anything seriously wrong with it and TKF uses sorta mellower decks from the press but not Baker mellow.

I don't mess with colored trucks, but raw hanger with a colored baseplate is a nice change up.

I don't either but I had the urge. I've got regular cast plates too if I get bored and it's paint so lots will flake/scrape off over time

I'm assuming those are Donovan's new pro model? I fuck with the baseplate color but hate when there's too much going on with the hanger

UMA 8.5x32.25 ( I had an Almost board that was 32 long and its the same, so I dont know about that)
Concave is medium, not too steep, not too low. Board itself was made in China according to sticker, but seems fine after 1 session, maybe a little too heavy  (Again, I had a Almost board before this one, which was super thin and light as fuck, so maybe Im just used to that, and also, this one is dipped)

Thunders 151, both trucks down to the axle, I give them a month tops, I think they are both bent
Minilogo 52s, 101, the lockin shape (A-cut I think?) Ive been skating these wheels for a good 3-4 last sets, and I see no difference between them and STF Bones, and they are half the price
Bones Swiss, probably 4 years old, never cleaned, shields off and they still roll perfectly
Indy Phillips bolts, missing one in the back
Jessup Ultra grip
Emerica Wino G6 cupsole slipons, the Spanky colorway (Favourite shoes of all time)

The 14.38 is the generic mold, there is another 14.5 they make that is the DLX Dreamer shape and Baker and a few others use one that is basically identical. I always measure the WB. I do have a Krooked 8.38 that is 14.5 and a spare set of 148 but I haven't skated it yet.
