Independent Mason Silva 149

OJ Double Durometer 56mm 101a/95a

Bones Swiss Six

First time trying a slick deck, feels nice so far.

How are the wheels?
Did you pay full price for them?

Unfortunately I did.

So far they barely deliver on the promise of being an AT wheel. They technically do roll on really rough ground, but I can't gain enough speed for it to be viable and there's still a lot of notable vibration. Honestly I was kinda expecting it since it's not a new formula, but I had higher hopes for them.

Today my board got caught on a pubble or something at the skatepark and one of the wheels flatspotted, so now my board has the annoying flatspot sound and feeling.

I do like how they feel at the parks with the slide and all, but I might as well have just gotten the normal OJ 101a wheels. These wheels feel like 101a performance with just a bit less vibration. If you need an AT wheel, Powell Dragons (and Bones X Formula from what I hear, but I haven't tried those) are far superior in terms of its purpose, durability, and price.

I do still need to spend more time on them, so maybe my opinion will change but as of now I want Jeff Kendall to personally give me back my money :v

This is a bummer. I like the Elite formula and was hoping these would justify the extra $20 for these wheels.

I skated with Neil and a bunch of my morning sesh friends a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait till he sees it. I'm sure he will have an opinion but I'm more certain that he'll be stoked that I'm skating it. I would skate with them more often but I work nights and they skate way too early for me. I'm more of a noon patrol person

I wonder if 8.38 is really becoming the new modern standard of board size.

Seems like more and more people are riding 8.38 or 8.375 sized boards.

Gotta say I am biased but I sure do enjoy my BBS / DLX 8.38s.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I just skated mine recently. Such a sick graphic part of me wishes I kept it for a wall hanger.

I have one as a wall hanger I'd sell. It lost its appeal once they reissued it.

Venture 6.1 hollow
I definitely have a loyalty to venture, they’re so good, they’re a bit magic carpet on this deck but it’s really not an issue, they turn great regardless of what anyone says (I have my trucks as loose as they can be) they’re also just really sturdy and pop sooo nice!

I get a bit defensive about venture because I feel like they get way too much hate haha
