How do you like it? I got it in a 9.25 as a hanger but the shape is calling me. Does it get along with the Krux? I’ve never skated them and was thinking about trying them as they’re cheap.
[close]
If you like your trucks not turning try them
[close]

First pair of krux ever. I got them mostly because they were the cheapest 9in trucks I saw that were still an actual brand.

Trucks not turning is a myth.

The shape is way more functional than I expected. I think the small wheels helps it flip better. That thought process atleast

@biaherl
I’ve only been skating these vans for 2 weeks.
[close]

I skated ventures for 2 solid years, so I’m definitely a proponent of all trucks being able to turn. I think people just get used to aces turning on a dime and expect that to be the standard
[close]

Agreed, and it’s also a height/weight thing too - Aces with stock bushings feel pretty squirley and unsafe (I’m 6’1” and 180lbs). I feel surfy and free on thunder 161’s where others might feel like their bushings are made out of concrete.

I haven’t had Krux’s since 2004 when the inverted kingpins came out and I was obsessed with smith grinds on flat bars, but their commitment to women/NB skaters plus seeing Ryan Lay skate at Mach 5 and looking amazing doing to makes me feel like they couldn’t be but so bad!

Skated the K5 Krux. I wasn’t happy with the turning and wanted to wax the pivots. They came off with the hanger but I still waxed them and put them together. After they got pretty responsive and felt great to skate.
Nothing I do deserves more than an iphone camera.

How steep ......or mellow are those Limo decks ???

Im used to riding Hockey/FA and found this a pretty easy transition. I think those are considered steep. So this is in the steep realm

Most of the spots I skate are disgustingly rough so it’s nice having some fat wheels, my knees have taken years of abuse so I just try to make everything as comfortable as possible haha

Sanded off an 8.5 eagle, the chemical route, with acetone. Took awhile but not as long as I thought it would.

-Indy IKP plates, Ace classic 44 hangers, deadstock GK kingpins (not krepers), Ace medium bottoms, Ace low hard tops.
-Indy 1/4" risers
-Dogtown 60mm 92a wheels
-Reds bearings

looks a lot better. i have several decks i ‘need’ to do this with. they have grip on them…possible to do? i’m not gonna regrip these things, i’m
just trying to skate old shit to not be so wasteful/precious. but one of the boards had an april graphic that i tried to paint over and it somehow looks worse. which is shocking. i guess cuz it looks like i was trying to get away with something, shabbily. like using spray paint for window tint would be a better look than what i pulled off

I had grip on it and since I was a bit careless and sometimes slopped a little too much acetone when pouring it into a cotton pad, the melted paint traveled down the sides and bled into some of the grip. It was only a couple days old of being gripped with pepper so it came off easy. I think as long as you don't make the same mistake I did, the grip will remain unaffected.

Shaped boards and risers aren’t for me. Not on my everyday setup at least

WKND Tom K 8.25 that I redrilled to a 14” WB. Had this deck for so long that it warped and then sat forgotten under a stack of used boards being unwarped

acetone and a hard plastic scraper, 2"-3"er, i wouldn't go wider than that. metal scrapers are easier to gouge but if careful it's quicker.

Finding a nice stain under an average graphic is always reason enough to scrape, sand or otherwise remove the paint and let me have a better feeling about riding it, simple or silly as that may sound.

There have been some really good ones lately that I don't recall seeing a whole lot of in the past how ever many years, so I tend to "blank" more boards now than I ever have before, some on great clearance deals too, so I get the wood I want at a better price.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

If it were up to me, I'd skate exclusively blank BBS decks with stained top, bottom and middle plies in bright colors. Gimme a stack of green, pink, yellow, orange decks and I'll be happy. Gotta have that color.

Really liked the shape so gonna run it again.
Didn’t like the 56mm 101 spits
So I swapped them for some 54mm Mike Arnold SML V-cuts
Gotta skate a girl deck with Lakais, I can’t help it.
