Picked that deck up in the middle of a roadtrip last summer across America cause it was the only 7.75 the shop had. Deck held up the rest of the trip and it was a surprisingly good board

This definitely screams “only thing the shop had”. I respect you for it.

Thanks, I thought so too!

They are way different than the thrashed NB# 508s I was skating before, but so far I am digging em! I think I like the stiffer sole.

The flick is way different, still some adjustment needed, but I did one of my best frontside flips so far in em! Caught it pretty high for me!

On a work trip to the approximate Philly area right now so I swung by Nocturnal and got this board. I brought trucks that I don’t like and wheels that I’m not crazy about from home so that if i lost my checked bag or ended up needing to leave my board here I wouldn’t be bummed. Featuring Stella the kitty inspecting the setup

Traffic Ricky 8.5”
Grind king disruptors (dogshit)
Early run nfgs i think they’re like 55 or 56 (they were a bit too sticky for me early on the later iterations were way better imo)
Reds?
Shortys hardware?
Jessup
Idk what risers but they’re 1/8”

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

508s look sick but I’m curious about the exposed foam tongue?  Tried on some Bruins that had the same thing and didn’t realize it was a trend with new skate shoes.  It’s probably more comfortable but I’d be worried they’d split open and fall apart.

Element x Star Wars 9.25” 80s shape
Ace 55 classics
OJ III Hot Juice ~59mm
Mixed bearings I rebuilt
Thunder 1/8” risers
Snot rails

How is the mini logo board. I had one years ago and absolutely hated it but wondering if they have improved?

It is wonderfully mellow, which is why I bought it. :)

Tiny bit thicker than a typical BBS board, and the sound isn't as crisp, but it skates great for me. The shape and feel is exactly what I wanted.

I've never skated one before, so I don't know if they are 'better' or 'worse' than they have been. I have confidence in Powell putting out the same quality consistently though, so I am guessing they haven't changed.

I had a pair and had to go up 0.5 in them. They fit kinda similar to other modern DC cupsoles (run 0.5 small) and not like the OG (Kalis, Lynx, etc) which were closer to TTS.

Could be TTS or 0.5 small for you

I got (and returned) a pair of metrics in my size. Definitely going up a half size if I ever fuck with the techy DC Shoes again. Width is aight, if snug, but the toe box definitely fit too narrow. My feet aren’t considered wide either.
that would be crazy if your skin was made of hammers.
