Wait, Slappy Lows are a thing? When did those come out and how do the heights compare to everything else on the market?

They are 50 mm high. Just a touch higher than ace lows. They have been out for maybe 1-2 months. I prefer these over the aces. More stable and better pop for me.

Holy hell, dude. 8.28 to the White Eagle, and back again?!? That's some Bilbo Baggins' level of adventure there. Glad you made it home safe!

Ahhh man! I get these stupid fucking ideas in my head and can’t shake them. Curiosity always gets the better of me. Never know if you don’t try though.

A new setup for the new year:

Monarch Project 8.375” 14.25 WB
Mob
Ace AF1 44
Powell Nanocubic 52mm (&&)
Bones Swiss 6
Lil Jawns
Shortys

This is the widest deck and first time I’ve used deck rails since the old days when big shaped decks were the only option. I also wanted to try out dwindle wood and the dragon formula wheels. So far, so good…everything feels extremely solid especially coming from my last setup which was 2 year old BBS wood and Tensor Maglights so everything about this new setup is stronger. The wheels are extremely quiet but feel good. They do exactly as advertised and they slide like normal but super smooth on most surfaces. I’m not used to how quiet and damped my board feels but I’m sure I’ll get used to it and it will get a bit more rattley when it breaks in more. Bearing are old…probably over a decade old but I cleaned them before installing and they seem to work like new. I’m able to pop nollie’s easier but flipping seems a bit harder and I’m sure I’ll get used to that part too. Now I just need to get a crook groove going in the trucks since i learned them on my last setup and now it feels a bit harder to lock in the same without it.

8.5” Strangelove
159 Indy Forged Hollows
54mm Acid Wheels Type A formula
Iron Horse Grip and Hardware
Bones Big Balls bearings
Custom Grip my friend made a long time ago

Pretty stoked on the Christmas complete. Strangelove board kinda has a funny shape, round nose but kind of a shovel tail, kinda weird, but it was free, so we ride.

I have a set of 50mm classics worn down to the low/mid 40s and that wheel looks so appealing as it gets squashed down to where it's not such a round wheel anymore

144 Cookie Indy Standards
54mm OJ 101a outer/95a inner Double Duro Mini Combos
Quantum/Reds/Bronson
Jessup
Pocket Bolts 7/8 Allen

I’m really enjoying this set up in my hometown’s first ever public skatepark. I feel like after 15 years exclusively in the streets/DIY, this board could last me forever on this super smooth cement.

Shuffling between Vans Skate Half Cabs, New Balance 440 v1s and 417 Lows

I proclaimed the Frankies to be the official shoe of the Elaine T. Bailley Skatepark as we raised 417k to build it.

Half Cabs, 440s, and OJs were all gifts from friends and my Mom surprised me in the shop one night and bought the 417 lows for me.

Chapman used to press decks and print graphics.
Now they only print graphics and outsource the decks

went from unknowingly buying the lock in full’s shape (because it was not displayed on the Grimple collab’s packaging) to riding Classics for the first time in over a decade and regarding the changes in the widths of riding surfaces… for me it was crazy like
