I have a set of 50mm classics worn down to the low/mid 40s and that wheel looks so appealing as it gets squashed down to where it's not such a round wheel anymore

I wish they made smaller wheels like that when they are new it’s too skinny. I like worn down wheels for the wider rolling surface but rounded edges are nice

Set this up and then hurt my knee that I thought was healed from injury, just a slight set back but forces me to get back in the gym more instead of trying to skate in brick cold weather

went from unknowingly buying the lock in full’s shape (because it was not displayed on the Grimple collab’s packaging) to riding Classics for the first time in over a decade and regarding the changes in the widths of riding surfaces… for me it was crazy like

Is it me or are the lock in fulls not has straight cut on the inside now? Looks almost symmetrical. I had the regular lock ins a few years back and they were much sharper on the inside than it looks in this pic.

they are cut in like conicals on the outside but the inside is still flat, the curves are more gradual since they are wider all around so it’s less noticeable but that flat wall is still there

Idk about lock in fulls, but the newer lock ins that I bought were definitely not as flat as the first three sets I had. The inside was way more like a tablet. Very crisp edge. Now they're way more rounded on the inside making them like a slightly wider Connie full. based on my observations of course

54mm OJ 101a outer/95a inner Double Duro Mini Combos
Quantum/Reds/Bronson

Pocket Bolts 7/8 Allen

I’m really enjoying this set up in my hometown’s first ever public skatepark. I feel like after 15 years exclusively in the streets/DIY, this board could last me forever on this super smooth cement.

Shuffling between Vans Skate Half Cabs, New Balance 440 v1s and 417 Lows

I proclaimed the Frankies to be the official shoe of the Elaine T. Bailley Skatepark as we raised 417k to build it.

Half Cabs, 440s, and OJs were all gifts from friends and my Mom surprised me in the shop one night and bought the 417 lows for me.

There Marbie 8.5
Venture V8 5.2 with 3 speed rings and very very old rusty bones flat washers. Holy fucking shit this is loose.
I can’t even stand on the board stationary with just socks on. Slide right off and halfway out my socks.
Spitfire og 97a f4. Slide perfect. 58s. Same old ceramics from 2016. Fast most days. Just not lately. I gotta reup

I only shifted the front truck to the eight position. Back is normal as I’m riding the same shape as the last time

I think the easiest way to explain it from a Spitfire wheel shape perspective is the front is still Conical Full (as it always has been) but the back as said is still flat from the bearing up but as also said, where it used to be a very minimal curved part from the side wall to the riding surface, much like a Tablet shape, it is still a straight wall, but now the curved part is almost like a Radial from the top of the sidewall to the riding surface.

Hopefully that makes sense, but yes they have changed the shape of them, as well as the bearing seat position too, because an older set of Lock Ins I had was way more set it, where as the newer sets are wider in both Lock in and extra wide in Lock In Full, but they now have a more rounded back edge, compared to the older sets too.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Sick one. I also dislike Lil Jawns. Would love to support a little indie business but the rails aren't good. The ones I had slid poorly, wore down quickly and bent.

I had a similar experience with lil Jawns. They felt incredibly sticky and slow, especially coming from Santa Cruz Slimlines.

my qualms with Lil Jawns is he has become one of BailGunGary's biggest little minions. I cant stand the perpetual glazing of Bail Gun Gary and all those old dudes curb pages who constantly tug each other off. "moth jawns this P1 brand that". Nothing is sacred

It's always funny to me how 215's make any wheel look small. Board looks like a lot of fun.

New month new setup (the madness continues, think I'm finally happy?)

Real Ishod twin tail 8.5
Indy 149 forged hollows - two extra spacers each wheel
Bones x99 dinos
As always, china reds

I lied. Switched to 8.25 and Ace AF1 55s. Really enjoying the smaller deck on larger trucks.

April 8.125
Thunder 147 with flat washers for winter
Old F4 Classics. Started 54, now approaching 50

Girl Longneck 7/8 Allen with low nuts and first time trying Pepper XG on this board.

Didn't actually get to skate today...spent two hours shoveling but ground froze before it could fully dry. Needed to be done though- fresh snow today and cold temperatures next few days.

Powder is a hell of a lot easier to move than chipping thru ice in a couple days.
