Read a Marie Kondo book recently and thus want to get rid of most of my skate shit I don’t use, but I’m procrastinating so in the meantime I dug some old used shit up and made this setup.

Ah 9” eagle
Indy 169 not hollow
Reds
Spit big beatdowns 66.6mm
An OJ 3/8 riser and a lucky 1/8 riser
Some long ass hardware of unknown origin
Probably jessup but who knows really
Also i’ve been digging vm001s recently, and I got these 3sixteen relaxed straight jeans from self edge and they feel really good skating

how is it skating wheels that big?

That thing is a tank and Iove it for that reason.

It sure is heavy as fuck lol. Quite a bit of momentum though.

Great googly-moogly , them thangs is juicy. Respect.

Ms Kondo must a had a whole chapter on tractor tires

Lol not specifically, here's a super boiled down summary of the whole book: the less shit you own, the easier it is to tidy your house, so you should be okay with letting go of any and all possessions that you don't regularly use and aren't actively making your life better, because having a tidy house is the shit and will feel dope.

how is it skating wheels that big?

you roll really fast which is fun and you can go right over small/medium sized cracks or imperfections in concrete, but it's harder to do flip tricks because of how heavy it is. Also, it's way easier to lock into grinds on coping than with small wheels.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

skated this shape more than a few times, still have one kicking around, but its setup weird with 6.1s, still works. something about that shape has always ‘inspired’ me to put the wrong trucks on it….148s, 6.1s, and ace classic 55s, being a few of the weird ideas. classics 55s were real decent. looked ridiculous.

snack is indeed the best. i bought a snack semi recently, was hell bent on sizing down to an 8….pretty silly

Thanks! The Acer kingpins are super nice. Never have come loose and super low profile since you don’t need a top washer. I don’t know if the titanium matters much weight wise, but it looks nice

I like 6.1s and always contemplate putting them on my regular set up but I always go back to the 5.8s. I do think 6.1 turn better right out the gate. I have mine on a 9.0 quasi egg without wheels that I do kickyflips on in the dirt when I take my dog out back. They’re being squandered but honestly they get more use than my regular board.

i love this so much, fuck

for me it’s something about the pop on the 6.1s. i was really going thru it, and i set them up on just a cool looking shop deck, and it was a really funny feeling: instant confidence, borderline arrogance. the results didn’t match that exactly, but i was posing switch tre BOMBS. they were looking like nukes. wasn’t putting them down, but it all ‘felt right’.
my relationship with skating is, something

They're handmade in Tampere, Finland. Super light. Stiff, they're carbon enhanced. Pop lasts forever. Slick bottom. I think those who like these can't ride anything else.

That sounds super cool!

Wonder if someone will do a not-so-stiff carbon fiber deck. Like how on bikes they design certain parts of the (carbon) frame to flex. Could still be light/durable (maybe).

This deck is only 4 plys thick so that takes little out of the extra stiffness. They also make ultra stiff boards for vert riders. You can also ask for custom shapes and measurements (widht, wb etc).

yes, I did have to JB weld the kingpin nut, but it has been rock solid since. original kingpin was tough to get out, had to buy a vise to do it. but that was the only issue

Love that you’re pulling up year old setups lol. Yeah this one was a touch too long for my tastes, and the nose and tail were steep too so i was airballing all my kickflips. I think the trucks and wheels or maybe the angle i shot the photo exaggerate the longness though. I still have this one though I should prob give it another shot, maybe i’ll like it more the next time around
