First setup post injury. I set this up while injured but just stared at it til I was good to skate.
Prime “ufo” world shape reissue https://primewood.la/collections/prime-heritage-shapes/products/prime-heritage-n20
Venture 5.2 hollow los
Nfg 52 teardrops worn down to approx 47s
An assorted mix of reds and other miscellaneous bearings
An assorted mix of 7/8” hardware

Looks like the WB on that board is like 24"

Love that you’re pulling up year old setups lol. Yeah this one was a touch too long for my tastes, and the nose and tail were steep too so i was airballing all my kickflips. I think the trucks and wheels or maybe the angle i shot the photo exaggerate the longness though. I still have this one though I should prob give it another shot, maybe i’ll like it more the next time around
Jeez, idk what happened there lol 😂
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Might be the sort of board that the double drilled / V8 baseplates would work on very well.

Just a thought anyway.

in one of my more kooky moments, i set this board up, with 147 lights, and 51s, and shane’s shoe. i think that’s about how he sets his up, probably with 50s. aaaaaaaaaaanyways, what i found was that his shoe was decent, and that i could not skate that shape. at all. i think it has a longer tail and nose, no? something about it threw me off. a lot. there is a really obvious answer: i’m an idiot. but further, watching his foot placement is wild, deep in there, which makes sense. and the longer kicks probably help nose/tail slides. this is not your first with this shape, what do you like about it?

The 8.1 has normal nose/tail. About 7 & 6.56". The 8.25 has a longer tail and shorter nose.

Previous board setup was same deck on 147s and old 54 Classics worn to 51. I learned* slappies recently and got the 147s ground down to hitting the kingpin.

After skating 8" trucks for the past two years got curious if 8.25 might be helpful for some things.

This specific April 8.1 shape has all my favorite specs-

Fuller nose, normal tail. 14" wb. Normal length nose and tail. ~31.6 long.

the dimensions sound(ed) ideal. i know it was (and always is) a me problem.
reading the numbers, seeing it here….i can change her

i put 148 lights on and instantly felt they could be an ‘anti-madness’ truck.
then i went fuck that and took em off. but they seem like they are a real reasonable middle ground.

Back at it after a ten year hiatus

BBS Blank 7.875
Thunder Polished Light II 147
Blueprint 54mm
Skate Warehouse bearings
Indy 7/8"
Pepper G5

Went cheap with the wheels/bearings to see if I would be comfortable with 54s and I really enjoyed them, so I ordered some Bones X-Formula 54mm and Bronson G3s.  I also completely forgot how much of a pain it is breaking in new trucks haha.

The sets of Prize Fighters I had years back were so good. Better than anything Creative, I doubt they are made there. They were fast, hard yet smooth enough everywhere. If Loophole wasn’t around I’d skate them again. Did you just get them from their online store?

i didn’t try the old loopholes
i didn’t try the old prize fighters
the prize fighters remind me of a different slap forum era. every randozzi setup maybe. i’m getting my different era mixed up, but prize fighters seemed to have some cult following for a bit on here. it was the post habitat/popwar/stereo time, where maybe people were getting into scumco and stuff. maybe the small brands hadn’t really started yet. wtf am i even trying to say.

i was always curious about where the wheels were made, because wheels were always: creative/bones/spitfire. maybe aend? was that a company?

yeah, posting setups on here back in the day was like an art form, everyone's setups were so clean!
Here's a throwback to probably the most beautiful combo I've ever set up (that was heavily-inspired by SLAP):

I drilled my own normal baseplates out, which work well, but if you are not sure, I guess it is easy to mess up and a lot of people are just not that keen to try something like that.

A 5 mm drill bit and a basic drill is all I use too, so not really any high tech equipment.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

How do you like them compared to F4? Myself and my friend had bad luck with the old Loophole formula.

Northern Co was sick that's a company I wish stuck around.

All of this is true. I know what you’re saying. Randozzi, me and Heritage with the Northern cos, Politics, Scumcos, etc paired with a smaller wheel brand. Good times.

I got on here around there.
I remember someone ran the Magnesium Ace Baseplates with inverted kingpins, Riptide pivots and Khiro bushings. People were wildin.

I did some sales work for all three (Northern Co, Politic & Scum co.) Prize Fighter is owned by a good friend of all the aforementioned companies owners. so alot of the dudes supported/ support the brand.

Lurpiv 150 (inverted Acer Racing kingpin)

The print is sooooo good. Curious to see it after a few boardslides.  Did you do this screen just for the board?
Do you do it at home diy or do you work with printing often ?
